Location is great, just next to border to Norway, grocery store and gas station just beside the hotel. Rooms were spotless and well maintained. Comfy beds, small fridge and balcony in room made my day. Restaurant had delicious dishes and reasonable prices. Breakfast was awesome, way better than big hotel chains has to offer! I can highly recommend this to anyone, I don't have anythkng bad to say.
Hotel Hansabar was one of the places we stayed on our work related trip to Utsjoki and Karigasniemi. In hotel we were served really well, and I was amazed by the hotel rooms. I and two of my colleagues stayed in the apartment for three in a separate building next to the hotel. We had some issues with finding the right temperature to the room - I guess the quick drop of temperatures outside and few days without visitors the apartment had cooled down a bit. The apartment was tidy and it had a sauna. There would have been a small kitchen as well but we did not need it as we had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast in the hotel. We ate the dinner at the pub. It suited our group well as we did not expect anything formal and just needed food. We had ordered most of the meals before-hand and there we were surprised to see that those who didn't order in advance had their meals earlier than us who did. The menu is versatile. There are pizzas, fish, meat and burgers. Drinks can be ordered from tap or by the bottles. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great. There was quite a lot of choices and everything tasted good. I always have some porridge (oat meal) when eating a hotel breakfast and this was perfectly soft and non-sticky. It was proven that the restaurant area and meeting room are suitable for workshops even with quite a large groups. After the workshop we also had lunch and it was tasty as well. I had the vegetarian bowl from the kitchen and those who could eat meat, had a buffet. Next time if having a long meeting and workshop in the hotel, maybe I would ask for fruits or some other desserts that pastries, even though they were good. Just having a bun or other sweet cake on every coffee and as dessert, can make a long lasting sugar rush. We did not have time to explore the surroundings but the sceneries from the bus seemed such that Karigasniemi is a must go again place. Teno River was running close by and the valley was beautiful.…
We stayed in an apartment a night for €100. At first glance it seems ok, but when we enter our apartment, it is old, so old, tatty with dirty and dated sofa, shower area was smelly and not clean . Remembered me some motels beside the road . They served breakfast but we didn't go . Pros: The staffs was ok and we parked our car just behind our room . They have a restaurant and a bar if someone wanna use, but most of their customers are local / or drivers who pass the road and stay for a meal.
fresh, clean and modern hotel rooms with everything you need for a well-rested night. we even came back for another night! and you must try their restaurant 'guossi' - the best reindeer i've had in lapland!
It's a fairly simple abode, but everything works. Except breakfast. It's limited to start off with and then staff does not care to maintain what is on offer so guests are faced with even fewer options. Avoid the place, if possible.
