Cool place, has its own unique atmosphere, especially for those who like birds. Very friendly and helpful owners. Rooms small but cozy. Good food. Beautiful surroundings, especially in winter when the lake is frozen. I can strongly recommend this place.
Lovely place in the enchanted forest of north Finland with warm atmosphere, Great accommodation rooms, good food and nice staff. The bird feeders out of the dining room attract local special birds such as Pine Grosbeak, Siberian Jay and Siberian tit. There are also many Greenfinches, some Bramblings, Siskins and Redpolls. Also red squirrels visit the feeders very often.
We (2 students and photographers) stayed in the log cabin for several nights. There was everything we needed to cook, sleep and eat. The host was extremely nice, very flexible and made our stay very enjoying (she even came to our cabin to inform us about the aurora borealis which was just appearing on the sky!). If we are in this region again, we will certainly come again!
We stayed here with a small group in early March for a total of four nights. Cosy, warm, rooms in the main lodge. Beds quite possibly the most comfortable we have ever slept in on a trip anywhere! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. As vegetarians there was good choice at breakfast and lunch, and a vegetarian meal each evening (which was also very good). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great place for bird photography (which was the purpose of the visit), but also an amazing location to see the Northern Lights (we were lucky to see an amazing display one clear evening). There is a lake behind the hotel which is frozen in winter, great place to walk (in winter obviously!). We would definitely stay here again.
A very warm and comfortable room in the main lodge. There were four bunks in our room. We visited on our way up to Norway and picked this place to stay because of the bird feeders. We came for the birds and were pleased that unlike some other places with feeders, they continue to feed all year round. Thrilled to watch Pine Grosbeak, Siberian Tit and Siberian Jay while having breakfast.
