TRADITIONAL BEAUTY Finland’s first fell hotel, a great monument to functionalism, was designed in 1938 by architects Väinö Vähäkallio and Aulis Hämäläinen. After the Second World War the traditional Lapland Hotel Pallas was built. The living spaces, highlighted by the breathtaking scenery, comfortably fit in with today’s style. The library is full with stories by guests who submitted their experiences for others to read. A weekly program that considers the guests’ wishes contains downhill skiing as well as pancake making. Some of the most popular activities are ski trips, guided by the Owls of Pallas. There is permission to have a small meeting — of a kind — in the Owls’ loft. Experience the most beautiful of the fells, along with other national park landscapes with the many others who return to us year after year.

Where do I even start? The Tui staff are fantastic from the minute you get to the UK airport, meet your reps at Kittila airport until you check in back at the airport when you sadly have to go home! If you want to have fun in the snow, experience so many new things and do all of this in a relaxed, friendly and absolutely beautiful environment then I cannot recommend this place enough. From taster sessions to sledging to slides made from the snowy hills, toasted marshmallows, beery juice, local biscuits, fun and games in the evening and on every trip! Then you can pay extra for trips for full snow mobile, husky and reindeer experiences which were totally fantastic experiences and worth the money in my personal opinion, we didn't do the reindeer the other two were fantastic trips.
The hotel staff are all so friendly and brilliant and so very helpful.
The place is so idyllic in the middle of a national park with nothing but phenomenal views everywhere you look. The rooms are basic but comfortable and with all the snow outside and your slippers you will be very comfortable.
There are people everywhere in pyjamas, you could easily get away with packing base layes, pyjamas and slippers and just some clothes for the plane. I have been lucky to stay in some amazing places in the world but this one is certianly up there with some of the best and definitely most unique.

Moving on to the food we were full board and I have several random food allergies (not the normal ones). Yet I have never been catered too so well. The amount of food they made for me specifically and ensured at every meal I was informed what I could and couldn't eat and every meal was absolutely amazing. The chef is fantastic. I am defintiely missing the food since being home!!
And to the reason you are visiting Lapland over the festive period with your kids in tow! Make sure you take the kleenex as you will leave with tears!! What an experience!!

So to round this review off, life is made for experiences and this is one certainly not to be missed. If you are thinking about it, book it, you will not be disappointed.

Stayed there for the second time, this time for 2 nights, in an economy room without own shower, but with own toile;, 2 single beds, TV, Wifi, table etc., enough space to store luggage. No cooking facilities, but very good and rich breakfast buffet; the restaurant offers selected dishes, I recommend the veggie burger. At the reception you can buy small snacks and souvenirs. Can be reached by public bus (once a day from Mo to Fr), an interesting Luontokeskus (Nature center) with exhibitions, store and information about the area, just a few walking minutes away. Many hiking opportunities right outside the door.

Ski resorts tend towards party, bars and booze although many visitors come to Lapland for the nature, the amazing fells, the quiet and the awe. Although there ought to be, at present, there are no organic, green sustainability respecting resorts, yet Pallas Hotel comes close to it. With its exquisite gourmet food, refusal to refurbish everything with plastic and new paint, its ice swimming pond, incredible views, history and tradition, it is the only Finnish hotel that qualifies as a Nordic equivalent to an alpine resort. The dozen fell tops at your fingertips, the wooden interiors, the laid back homely ambiance, the wild fauna and flora, the quiet, the views, the library rooms, the kitchen, the kitchen and the kitchen, and the chef... It is a gem for nature and hiking lovers.

Lapland Hotel Pallas is perfectly located next to Pallas fjell. That is about the only positive thing to be mentioned about the hotel; rooms are worn out with poor cleanliness and molded bathrooms, the carpets smell throughout the building heavily for reindeer urine. The service at reception is cold and nonchalant. The price-value is a real robbery. Therefore I simply recommend to stay elsewhere and avoid this place.
Their restaurant was totally an other story: good service, good food for dinner and good breakfast.

Price was changed after the call and reservation. After the payment nothing could be done and it was OUR fault. They cheated us. Be careful and use internet for making reservation.
Shower was oldschool, but also hot water was available sometimes.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is amazing and the nature is very unique. Visitors can go cross country skiing, snowboarding, free skiing, snowshoeing etc. The food in the restaurant is very good and traditional for Lapland. Pallaksen Pöllöt which is a local skiing school teachers fellowship arranges all kinds of activities during your stay. These experiences are one of a kind.

The hotel is very dated. I’ve visited there for nearly 30 years now and no changes or renovations have been done. It would be shame not to renovate the hotel because the location is so unique. The truth is that the price is way too high for that level. The history of Pallas should be valued and respected, now the management is only ruining it and letting the hotel grow moldy.

Second visit to this hotel!!! Yes its dated and the sleeping arrangements are questionable. However the place is magical, I have never felt so Christmassy relaxed and welcomed. The staff are so genuine and friendly. The food isn't the best, However you wont go hungry, There is always something to feed on. There isn't many all-inclusive hotels so this is very good value for money. The environment is great everyone had the best time, No complaints. My son is 17 and still had the best time sledging. We were also fortunate enough to see the northern lights for a second time at this hotel. I would defiantly recommend, And hope to return to Pallas again. Dont be pushed into booking excursions by the TUI reps, The tasters will give you the taste of the Lappish culture. In total we spend 9 euros spending money, And had the best time.

This hotel is situated in the middle of a national park and we stayed for a night on our way to Nordkap/Cape North in Norway. The hotel and its facilities is nordic rustique which is normal cause it is a lot of hiking and skiing going on at this place. The restaurant is top-notch and a reason to come back! Do watch out for Santas reindeers though cause it is a lot of them!

Omg this was my trip of a lifetime. Something I’ve dreamed of since a small child and dream come true at 46yrs old! There was just me and my husband with another couple and no children but that didn’t deter us. The hotel is in the middle of a national park and is so unspoilt in its surroundings. Yes the hotel is a bit dated but it added to the experience. Food was a bit bland but nothing bad about it as it was edible. Drinks were a bit sparse and staff were busy all the time so the bar got a bit packed at times. Only downside was I expected a nice big fireplace but it’s tiny and they only put two small logs on it at a time. Hey ho, we are in LAPLAND.
The whole experience just was amazing. Can’t fault the hotel staff and elves. All very pleasant and someone always about.
Definitely a trip of a lifetime and would definitely return again. Maybe take the grandkids one day!! Dog sledding and snowmobiles were the best. Miss out on the reindeer ride as that was way overpriced and a big disappointment unfortunately.

An absolutely amazing place. Honestly the most magical place you will ever go during the festive period.
Yes rooms are basic and dated but your in there to put your head down that's it. All staff are lovely we went with tui and they were just as brilliant. However they know how to sting you on hot chocolates, haha, would have literally been perfect if these were included in the all inclusive but never the less we have booked to go back next year x

As far as I am aware the only kit that I saw is as follows: boots, all in one thermal suit, socks, gloves and balaclava.I believe they do this in conjunction with the company that kits you out when you arrive at the airport as part of a package. I never saw any skiing equipment.

Hi we went on the 12th of December 2019 and the only trips available to us were the Tui excursions which are the huskie sledging, reindeer sleigh ride, and the snowmobiling. The cost for all three in total came to about £775 for two adults. Try Viator the sister company to TripAdvisor. I have successfully booked lots of excursions all over the world with them ....

You get a 5 min snowmobile and a short husky rid inc, we found both were enough .. the extras are around £160 - £200 pp inc the elf village.. we spent 3 nights there and found we wouldn’t have time for the extras as we just enjoyed being at the hotel so much both inside and outside doing activities
