From start to finish our snowmobile safari holiday was possibly one of the best life experiences I've ever had. The hospitality of the staff and unique surroundings of Harriniva resort is something that stays with me. I booked this holiday as a bucket list adventure for my adult son and I and it lived up to every expectation. From experiencing the beauty of the stunning Finnish arctic wilderness to witnessing the Aroura Borealis our trip was filled with truly unique experiences. The accomodation is authentic and functional, the amenities, equipment and food provided were excellent. I am so impressed intend to return for another arctic holiday next year. Fantastic.

We stayed in a cabin here and it was great. It was small but fine for 3 people. The main hotel was very charming and the food was good although I don't eat moose meatloaf, smoked porkbelly or elk shoulder but there was plenty of other food to choose from and always dessert. The wine was very reasonably priced and had lots of other drinks to order. Great little pub and the staff was very friendly.

Harriniva hotel – all inclusive adventure lodge. Arrival – nice local small airport Kittilä – is about 1h 20 min flight from Helsinki. The bus driver from the hotel was waiting. Transfer was included. About 1h 20 min bus drive from the airport. The food was Great in the hotel, 3 meals included (br, lun, din). The consiers (receptionist) was nice and helpful. The budget lodge (table, bed, shower) was warm and cozy. Unfortunately, the was NO soundproof. You can hear every movement of all people above and beyond. Also, airport shuttle back to the airport was 25 min late, but I still made it on time for the flight. 1d – I went to the cross- country skies. January – is a polar night. It was dawn between 11 am and 3 pm. The rest of the day – pitch darkness. The ski trail was not groomed. 2/3 of the lights were not working. I got lost in the darkness☹ 2-3 d. – husky trip. About 25 km each day (took about 4 h). every person had each own sledge. That was good. But there were about 50 sledges on the same trail, moving painfully slowly, constantly on the brakes (which was not good for the dogs braking backs pooling sledge constantly when under the brakes). Tour guide made the group to clean the sleeping place (where all crowd was sleeping), feed dogs (several times) and clean their poop. Still a glimpse of frozen wildness was nice. Next husky trip cost 165 Euro was only 1h. but again, the scenery of the snow forest was great!!! 4d – snowmobile trip. I had my own snowmobile. I was a driver for 60-80 km. first time experience. At first, I was concern about too much vibration and zig-zag moving, but after a while I simply “let it go”. I let the snowmobile “to choose” its own pass. I was a bit concerned that the tour guide will make us (tourists) to change the oil for snowmobile or do some repair and maintenance. Luckily, not. 😊 another nice day in the wildness. 5d – reindeer safari + Sami culture. For 1.5 our guide told us about the life of the family owning this deer farm from 1800. We have seen “homemade” tools and garment (from deer skin, bones, horns..etc). than we had a chance to through the lasso on the post with deer horns. Surprisingly, I “caught” my “deer”. I’ve learned that there are around 200 000 reindeers in Finland (government limitation), none of them are wild! Then deer sledge slowly walked to the lunch place, where we had soup in ti-pi. Again, return in deer sledge walking slowly in the beautiful wildness. Was really warm this day, - 1 – 2C, light snow…a lot of snow.. really beautiful around.

Stayed over night with friends when travelling. The service in the hotel was generally good, positive and spontanious, with good feeling. As we arrived late, we made pre-order to the restaurant and this was appreciated by the staff. The reindeer burger was really good. Breakfast was also good. In general, the facilities and room were clean. Would recommend this place :)

Just back from a week’s trip to Hotel Harriniva. Hubby and me and our 14 year old daughter. Every part of this trip was a highlight. Seeing the Northern Lights twice from just outside the hotel next to the frozen river, husky trips, cross country skiing trails, ice fishing. Also visited Artic Sauna World at Hotel Jeris and the reindeers at Torassieppi. Everything was wonderful about the activities, all of the guides were super friendly and well informed. All of the staff at the hotel were so friendly and genuinely helpful and they made the whole trip very easy as everything thing was organised so well. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We were half board with a hot and cold buffet breakfast each morning and delicious hearty meal each evening. We had an early flight home and they provided us with a breakfast bag for the trip. Our accommodation was basic/standard but spacious and extremely comfortable. We were sad to leave and felt truly blessed to have visited this wonderful place.

Had the pleasure to go in our first husky safari with Harriniva, from their safari point in Kilpisjärvi, and it was simply an amazing experience. The whole thing happened at beginning of March, started at about 10:00 with getting the equipment needed, spending some time with the huskies and watching how the sledges were prepared, getting the instructions of how to control the sledge, and followed by the ride itself. And when the dogs start running, it was like something unreal was happening. A wonderful feeling in the heart of the nature, with snow all around. At the beginning the sky was clear and sun was warming up, after about 4 km we got in a snow storm, and at the end was again sun and pleasant atmosphere. The guys from Harriniva are extremely thoughtful and friendly, so everything was perfect. We could not choose better for our first husky safari, it.s a memory that will stay in our minds forever. And my wife, who wished for this experience for years, was extremely excited. Highly recommend them, our next safari with them will be snowmobiling and hopefully next year we’ll be able to go to the hotel in Muonio as well. Thank you Harriniva!

We came here as the first part of a two centre holiday and spent four nights. This was our very first "snowy" adventure and I am bound to say that it was a fantastic adventure. The hotel was very well appointed and the rooms (Widerness+suite ) was spacious and well equipped with a mezzanine for sleeping and the ground floor for comfortable seating or a sofa bed. The food was good and varied especially the fish dishes and drink reasonably priced for a Nordic country (though we didn't drink very much - too tired after the activities). The staff and guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and the excursion were excellent. We did things we had never done before like dog-sledding, snowmobiling and snow-shoeing. We also went to the sister hotel in Jeris to use the fantastic saunas and plunge into the ice cold lake afterwards (better than it sounds :) We saw the Lights but only briefly and through cloud so not a spectacular display (we did see them at the second venue). All in all a fabulous experience and thanks to the team at Harriniva for making it so. The only thing I would say is that there were no toiletries in the bathroom (luckily we bought our own) and the nature of the suite with the bedroom being on the mezzanine and the bathroom on the ground floor meant a precarious excursion to the loo in the middle of the night for those of a certain age ;) Having said that we would not hesitate in coming back agin to these beatiful winter surroundings in Finnish Lapland and the friendly laid-back Finns.

This is a very good hotel, which organises fantastic activities such as dog sledding and skidoo’s with great guides. The rooms and cabins are very nice, the food is average but the best thing about this place is the staff who are very special. The location is also very beautiful

Not long back from an amazing stay at Harriniva Hotel, Thanks to Minna for helping to organise our stay with you, we had a great time! Stayed in a cabin by the frozen river with fantastic views, cabin had underfloor heating and it’s own sauna, which was much needed to thaw out after activities in the snow and late nights chasing the Northern Lights. The Husky sled ride of 15km was a real buzz, absolutely loved it! The Snowmoble ride of 30km was unreal! But the highlight of course was seeing the Northern Lights on two nights, we were incredibly lucky as they of course are not guaranteed. The staff are great and very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, thanks again Minna! Airport transfers provided, also, Extreme outerwear, balaclavas, gloves and boots are provided by the hotel, remember layers and wool fabrics. Amazing memories made here!
