Holiday Village Valle is family owned small hotel in the most remote and peaceful area of Finland – Utsjoki! We offer high quality accommodations, food and activities, with out big industrial tourism. Our roots are strongly in the area and in the indigenous Sámi culture. We stand in the northern most point of Finland, surrounded by great wilderness, just 80km away from the arctic ocean! Utsjoki is one of the best places in lapland to see the aurora borealis, the northern lights, because of the extreme northern location. Statistically there is northern lights in 3 of 4 nights! Welcome to experience the pristine arctic scenery and the vast quietness of Utsjoki!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Henry and his family make you feel more than welcome at this family run hotel complex. We booked as part of an organised tour and were treated to many different experiences throughout our week from cross country skiing to reindeer husbandry and sleigh courtesy of their families business to husky safari and sledging. The hotel is brand new and beautiful. The floor to ceiling windows give you an uninterrupted view of the hills and at times the northern lights right from your bed (which is incredibly comfortable!) The bathrooms were amazing and I certainly enjoyed a hot shower after each day - kettle and tea / coffee in our rooms were refreshed daily as we did drink a fair few to get warm after being outside. The TV provided some giggles as we managed to pick up some BBC and

Having decided to do something 'different' this year at New Year we booked a 6 day trip to a bucket list destination of Finland to not just celebrate NY but also hopefully to see the Northern Lights and experience some of the adventures most people only talk about and Henri and his team at Holiday Village Valle certainly delivered everything we hoped for an more! It's a bit of a trek to get from UK to Utsjoki with an initial flight to Helsinki followed by another 1.5 hours to Ivalo airport so in total with a short delay on the second flight the whole journey took around 9 hours but even arriving around 2am we immediately experienced the chilling cold and amazing snowy scenes (considering it is effectively night for the whole day arriving at night was no big deal! There is

Nice cottage stay during our one night stay. Staff was friendly and willing to give us a discounted rate as both of us just need to spend a night during the off peak season. Room equip with fully kitchen facilities and have a nice sauna inside the toilet. Come with comfortable bed and heater around the room. Cottage was facing direct the river with scenic view.

Amazing cabin with a well equipped kitchen and it even has an open fire place. Wifi is very good so you can FaceTime your friends showing off this wonderful place! The best things are the sauna and the balcony; you can enjoy a drink overlooking the river and at night you can see the aurora borealis from your seat on the porch; wow. The service I received from Henri was outstanding; very helpful and friendly and he even went the extra mile whilst he was on duty in the restaurant, which is on site and it serves wonderful meals; tasty and wonderfully presented. The cabins are very clean and well equipped, ample parking space and I hope to return soon. I really can't fault Henri and his team; thank you for making my stay so memorable.

Everything about Holiday Village Valle was fantastic (location, the view, cleanliness of the cabin, amenities, hospitable staff). Henry was extremely helpful and shared so much about Utsjoki and the Sami Culture with us. We had the opportunity to join Henry for a traditional Sami dinner, which was really wonderful. Food was amazing @ Deatnu restaurant and the view was just marvellous. Highly recommended accommodation! We're already planning to come back soon! :)

Visiting Lapland had been one of my to-do's for a very long time. Finally I ended up here and I must say this stay surmounted all expectations. Plenty of activities to choose from, from a cross country skiing tour to a husky tour, from learning more about the local culture to sitting out front of the cabin enjoying the Northern lights. About the accomodation and staff - the food was simply splendid, the Valle family and their staff are friendly as ever and really go the extra mile to make the most of your stay. HIGHLY recommended.

Excellent atmosphere and food, just amazing place. And that view what you can enjoy during your meal. Personnel, owner couple and all the people in restaurant were so friendly and they had time to talk with you. Just so great place to have lunch, dinner and spend your time. I really enjoyed my visit. Good work Petteri and others.

Holiday Village Valle was fantastic and exactly what we were expecting when we booked a log cabin in Finland. We saw the northern lights, we went husky sledding & cross-country skiing, as well as daily saunas, wonderful food and absolutely mesmerising scenery. The cabin itself was gorgeous with a personal sauna, kitchenette and plenty of space for games and yoga :). The holiday village itself is small and personal so you don't feel like you're in a huge, busy, mainstream camp! We were there during a quiet period before bigger groups arrived and had the undivided attention of Henry, the manager, who essentially became our personal tour guide. He was extremely attentive throughout, very patient (we were late for literally everything), and fantastically knowledgeable and willing

We stayed in Holiday Village Valle between 28. December 2015 and 04. January 2016. A house to with WLAN, a sauna, an open fire, right on the river front. Clothing for all activities provided by the owner. Great activities and amazing customer service. The cabin itself is huge, comfortable, warm and just blissful - post-activities, there's nothing like firing up your own sauna, followed by your own open fire as you relax. Henry Valle's son - also named Henry - runs all the great activities, and was an amazing host. The restaurant was perfect. If you are looking for a winter wilderness experience full of spirit and northern lights and away from the big resorts, we would highly recommend this place.
