Pysähdyttiin ohikulkumatkalla lounaalle. 12 eurolla saatiin tosi hyvä peruslounas upeilla jokimaisemilla. Salaattipöytä oli hyvä ja lämpimäksi ruuaksi vihanneksia, riisiä ja kookosbroileria. Yksi Pohjois-Lapin parhaista lounaspaikoista. Pesee mennen tullen esim. Inarin lounaspaikat.

Went to see them but discovered so much more. If you are an artist, go and be inspired. If you like excitement a husky sleigh ride is a must! Loved learning about Sami culture and the meal on our last evening was very special. Our hosts were informed and very aware of our safety. The accommodation was just right as were my fellow travellers. Only observation would be to try and find a way to prevent the outside lighting (compulsory) seeping into the bedrooms through the glass panel doors. My machine would not let me apply rating? Everything was just right!

We went to holiday village valle over Christmas in the hope of seeing the northern lights. What we got was so much more. There were plenty of activities, and our hosts, owner Henry, and guide Danny were so knowledgeable and skillful, that they made our holiday even more amazing. The accommodation was warm and comfortable, and we also had great food. All of the staff were so helpful, they couldn't have done any more for us.
We also did see the northern lights, but that was a bonus because everything else was so good. The equipment they provided us with ensured that we were warm enough with all the outdoor events.
We managed to unwind and forget about our normal lives whilst we were there, and I would love to return to this fantastic place.

We have been there last December for 3 days also last week ( September) we came back again. The property offers some cabins also some rooms in other building not far from cabins just beside Teno (Tana) river. We stayed in cabins.
These wooden cabins are clean , warm , have 2 rooms and a living room with a small kitchen, it was warm during December.Four beds and furnitured living room with a dining table. Each cabin have a Bathroom with a shower and toilet, also a sauna. We had enough kitchennette and oven and fridge to save & prepare foods. Also a fireplace which in winter they provide enough wood and it was one of our hubby to light it on.
Car park in just beside our room. A terrace just few meters from Teno river. Wifi was good. We never been in hotel rooms, but building has two floors and each room I saw have big windows to Teno river.
The property situated 2 or 3 kilometers from Utsjoki center. The detour to Holiday Vilage Valle always kept clean so it was safe to driving in winter.
Main building is a reception and also restaurant . The best thing apart from the place itself is character of the owner , Henry Valle, we really enjoyed to be with him and have conversation about sami people. Stuffs also been very good.
They offered many activities like reindeer sledding and husky safari , northern light, .... also a trip to arctic ocean.
Last time for half of a day we went to Nuorgam and polmak lake ( in Finland ) , it was scenic drive to polmak, and this time we drove to Karigasniemi, another sami city , in a colorful road beside Teno river.
The main reason to come back here now in September is we feel relax and unwind in this area , beside Teno with sami people . In December we saw aurora just above our cabins. Surely come back again, we like Utsjoki, we enjoyed this place, want to know more about their culture.

Wonderful Utsjoki is such a cute place to visit in winter! The local food shop has EVERYTHING you could possibly need (btw, the lactose-free products are on fleek in Finland, also lots of vegan options), you can take a ski tour, run along the Tana river on the Finnish side, whilst looking over at the Norwegian side, and enjoy their great hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner! There's even a fridge in the room so you could store hiking snacks or whatever you need ;) AND THE WIFI IS GREAT ALL OVER THE PLACE! WHAT ELSE IS THERE? <3
The staff is incredibly kind and helpful and I just wish all the best for these people <3
Thanks a lot for a super cozy stay ^-^

We stayed 4 nights in the newly built hotel of Holiday Village Valle (one with more people may choose the cabins). The hotel is very comfortable and clean with excellent facilities, mini bar is provided inside the room. Northern light can be seen in Holiday Village Valle clearly as light pollution there is minimal. Wifi connection is great everywhere, no worries.
The hotel is located some 2km from Utsjoki village centre, suggest those who don't drive to arrange pick up service in advance. [again we were very lucky to meet a nice local lady and helpful hotel manager Henry to give us free ride, million thanks to them =)]
Breakfast is fine with plenty of choices like vegetables, fruit and bread (one comment: not much hot food, just oatmeal and bacon, is it Scandinavian style? I had similar experience in Sweden too). The restaurant also provides lunch and dinner. The food is delicious with Finnish style cooking, really don't expect to find food of such quality in remote place like Utsjoki. The staff provide excellent services, almost 5-star hotel level.
We joined the husky safari, reindeer tour and snowshoe adventure. All are very good in particular the snowshoe adventure, where our guide took us to climb up a small hill, deep into the forest to chase northern light, where we enjoyed a fantastic view and felt the unique silence of the wild nature. Definitely an unforgettable experience!

Henry and his family make you feel more than welcome at this family run hotel complex. We booked as part of an organised tour and were treated to many different experiences throughout our week from cross country skiing to reindeer husbandry and sleigh courtesy of their families business to husky safari and sledging.
The hotel is brand new and beautiful. The floor to ceiling windows give you an uninterrupted view of the hills and at times the northern lights right from your bed (which is incredibly comfortable!)
The bathrooms were amazing and I certainly enjoyed a hot shower after each day - kettle and tea / coffee in our rooms were refreshed daily as we did drink a fair few to get warm after being outside.
The TV provided some giggles as we managed to pick up some BBC and ITV shows with Finnish subtitles although we tended not to watch much and spent a lot of our time in the restaurant chatting.
All our outdoor equipment was provided from mittens, boots, socks, hats, gloves to snow suits. If you are slightly warm, like us, top tip is to leave the bedroom door ajar when you get dressed to prevent a sudden need to run out and throw yourself in the snow to cool down after putting on all your clothes!
The village provided snow shoes, skis, sledges, toboggans for our use and amusement during "free time" and we certainly made use of these!
Food in the restaurant was plentiful and buffet style for breakfast and lunch and waiter service in the evening. All meal times came with a variety of options including starters. Food was lovely and there was always a choice.
The traditional Sami meal in the cabin was awesome. Felt so privileged to experience the culture which is kept so alive by the whole family.
We opted for 2 other tours on our "free day" offered by the family. A snow mobile ride to hunt the northern lights up at the top of a mountain (which was brilliant even though we didn't see them all that clearly that night!) and snowshoe trip with Anne and her dog. Anne was amazing. She was understanding when we got stuck, encouraging when we were not entirely convinced we could climb the hill (more like a mountain when we looked at it from the bottom!) and supportive when so of our group needed a helping hand! The view was spectacular and have included a picture from the top. The sense of euphoria we got from actually reaching the top was huge and the view breathtaking.
As a group, we came to love the fires and hot juice/ tea/ coffee breaks midway through or at the end of our activities. Will seem strange not to be sat around one when we get back!
Our bartender and waiter in the evening, Aramis, was great! There wasn't a drink he couldn't make and we became a huge fan of the hot wine and vodka - definitely a great warm up drink after a "hard" day playing in the snow.
Eric, Henrick and Henry shared many stories with us and helped us to understand Sami culture and life for them in this northern part of Finland. No question was too silly and they happily answered each one.
I would thoroughly recommended this village. It is amazing and I would go back again in a heart beat!!
How could it be improved?
Sauna for hotel guest usage - all cabins have saunas for own use so unless you can make friends and convince them to share, as a hotel guest you don't get that traditional Finnish experience!
Massage - midweek offer would be awesome as we were all starting to feel a bit tight and achy by then and a lush hot stone massage option would have been brilliant!

Amazing cabin with a well equipped kitchen and it even has an open fire place. Wifi is very good so you can FaceTime your friends showing off this wonderful place! The best things are the sauna and the balcony; you can enjoy a drink overlooking the river and at night you can see the aurora borealis from your seat on the porch; wow. The service I received from Henri was outstanding; very helpful and friendly and he even went the extra mile whilst he was on duty in the restaurant, which is on site and it serves wonderful meals; tasty and wonderfully presented.
The cabins are very clean and well equipped, ample parking space and I hope to return soon.
I really can't fault Henri and his team; thank you for making my stay so memorable.

Visiting Lapland had been one of my to-do's for a very long time. Finally I ended up here and I must say this stay surmounted all expectations. Plenty of activities to choose from, from a cross country skiing tour to a husky tour, from learning more about the local culture to sitting out front of the cabin enjoying the Northern lights.
About the accomodation and staff - the food was simply splendid, the Valle family and their staff are friendly as ever and really go the extra mile to make the most of your stay.
HIGHLY recommended.

Hello! Yes, we have on list also some glutein free serving
Hi there!
Everything is possible up here. Most challenning part might be fisrt 100 kilometer from Utsjoki to Ivalo. Anyway it so early winter and usually we get bad snowstorms in february so i believe you will have good roads on that time. Thought i still recommend to leave in morning. You need one hour for check in to flight and three hours for driving just in case if something happens on the road.
Hello Wendy, I think you already sent a message for us via email, but anyway i will answer in here aswell so everyone else also can read answer.
We are full booked on those dates unfortunately.
You will find our website from company's info. There is information about our tourpackages, activities, accommodation and foodservices.
Nearest airport is in Ivalo, 170 kilometers from Utsjoki. Second is in Kirkenes in Norway, 220 kilometers from Utsjoki.
If you book a tourpackage airport transfers are included. In other cases i recommend to check public transportations.
We also provide private airport transfers for private groups. Send us an email and ask offer.
I hope there was any help for you. Don't hesitate to take contact for further information.
Best regards,
Henry Valle
