Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing place. The best I have tried I. Ireland in recent years. Brilliant breakfast , that was a highlight and the hosts are simply the best . The bedrooms and beds are so good. You are getting 5 star standards but not having to pay for spa and bar you do not need! You can still get a drink by the fire . There is a pub within walking distance . Niall

Beautiful, relaxed, special few days spent at Mossie's Luxury Guesthouse. Hosts; Vanessa & Mattie, had thought of everything to ensure that my stay was a first class experience. Breakfast is a real treat, and the coffee was superb. Five star experience! Bedroom was beautiful, cosy, spotlessly clean and very relaxing. No traffic noise, exquite calmess throughout the house. Will be back.

We had a wonderful stay in Mossie's! The beauty of the scenery was matched by the warm and tasteful aesthetic of the interior! Matti provided us with excellent tips for our stay and was so hospitable throughout! We would highly recommend the gorgeous tapas board that we got to enjoy by the fire on our first night! The Ulusker room was a little bit of luxury too - especially the fabulous super king size bed! Will definitely try return to this lovely little oasis on the beara peninsula!

Excellent on all levels. Matti and Vanessa are perfect hosts - the bedroom (Italian) was beautiful- tastefully decorated and a very comfortable bed. Blissful nights sleep - so quiet - perfect. The breakfast was delicious in the very attractive conservatory overlooking huge garden - you can see Bantry Bay from your table - beautiful. We used the honesty bar for a very reasonable bottle of red wine and drank it sitting in the lounge in front of a cosy open fire. Will definitely go back and recommend it fully.

It took us twenty two hours door-to-door to arrive at MOSSIE’s from Santa Barbara, California. But it was well worth the journey. Matti and Vanessa have mastered the art of Irish hospitality. They are the soul of this B & B and the beautiful gardens that surround. This is a very special place, full of a sweet and peaceful energy. We felt completely revived from our long journey after staying here. We left renewed and ready for the rest of our trek across Ireland.

What can I say.... Vanessa and Matti are just perfect hosts. The accommodation is gorgeous, very sympathetically restored. The very simple touches of fresh flowers the hand made soaps, shampoo and shower gel and the beautiful soft furnishings throughout make this a very special experience. The breakfast menu is plentiful and the home baked bread just lovely. A perfect location for exploring west Cork and the Beara peninsula. We look forward to returning.

I stayed here as a solo traveler, just for one night. Absolutely gorgeous location, house, and grounds...so charming. Matti and Vanessa were welcoming and helpful. I stayed in the French Room, very beautiful and comfortable, with a nice balcony. Breakfast was less of the traditional B&B fare (no scones, brown bread), with warm flaky pastries, homemade jams, and hot dishes (I got the avocado toast with sprouts and a soft egg, delicious!). They have an "honor bar" for guests since going out for a drink is more difficult. On a random note they also have the *softest* towels and a super cushy duvet, which I haven't found to be the case much in Europe. One thing to know is that because of their remote location, the wifi doesn't work in most of the rooms, so you'll have to use it in the common areas (which are quite comfy), and I didn't get cell signal either. Wasn't an issue for me but just an FYI if that's an important for your trip. And you need to plan ahead on where to eat for the same reason--it's a bit more remote but worth it!

We stayed in the' Russian Room' and it was first class. The young couple who run this guesthouse deserve full credit for doing a very professional job . Nice setting, ideal for visiting the Beara Peninsula and Co Kerry. Breakfast is excellent. Home made bread is a must.

What a wonderful place, much more than a normal b&b. Set in beautiful countryside with stunning gardens and views of Bantry bay, this is the ideal spot to rest up if you are exploring beara. We stayed in the Italian room which is large and luxurious. Breakfast was delicious, Can’t recommend enough.

We stayed at Mossies B&B for 4 nights and it was Heavenly. Vanessa and Matti were the perfect hosts the property is stunning inside and out. The Russian room we occupied is a little bit of pure luxury. The welcome we were given was so genuine and we got loads of good advice about where to spend the day. The food at the b&b was so good fresh and tasty we loved the homemade bread. From the fresh flowers set out around the house to the various different places to unwind and relax inside and out were a delight . We would highly recommend a stay at Mossies it’s much much more than a B&B Marie and Des
