We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Breadalbane Room with its spacious and comfortable finishings, lovely shower and fresh linens. Breakfast was delicious from start to finish, and much appreciated given the walk up from the kitchen by Liz! In addition to providing us with some history of the castle, Ronnie kindly assisted us with dinner reservations at Ee-usk in...

This is a lovely castle... Ronnie and Co were great hosts and went the extra mile for our group. This would be a 5/5 except the Scottish breakfast gave us ( everyone in our party that had it) food poisoning. Hopefully this was a one-off occurrence... Summary... Wonderful place, great service... Just need to mind the food safety I would...

We are happy that you enjoyed most aspects of your stay at The Castle, however we are disappointed with your adverse comment. We consistently maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises as is borne out in our previous reviews. Two consecutive late nights in the hostelries of Oban, with little to eat would be the more...

This was my first time staying in a castle but one night was not enough. To get the full benefit I would suggest booking up for longer. My friend and I arrived after a fairly long drive and were greeted by Ronnie who showed us into a cosy sitting room (with blazing fire) and brought us tea along with delicious...

In September 2012 we had the extraordinary pleasure to stay in the Argyll room of Barcaldine castle. It was simply wonderful. At Barcaldine you get what you see. Upon arriving, Ronnie sat down with us and asked about our trip, asked about our breakfast wishes and made sure we were comfortable. Then he showed us our room and it was...

Spent 3 nights at the castle for a wee quick honeymoon and had an amazing time! Stayed in The Barcaldine room and couldn't fault it at all, from the delicious chocolates on the bed on our 1st day to the warm cosy bathrobes and best hospitality tray I have ever saw! Ronnie and Liz were fantastic hosts with Ronnie going...

After a short night's sleep, what a wonderful place to rest your head and savour the hospitality of Liz and Ronnie, the managers. They were kind enough to let us check-in early so that we could have a rest in our glorious room at the top of the castle stairs, after our flight and drive from USA. The room was...

Our daughter was married last weekend (13/10/12) at Barcaldine Castle. What a fantastic venue with 5 luxury bedrooms all beautifully appointed - we booked out the Castle. Have seen previous comments about Liz and Ronnie, the managers - how good they are - well sorry not true - they are actually out of this world!!!! Fantastic they put up with...

Attended a wedding at Barcaldine Castle this past weekend and it was lovely. The venue is stunning. Small but cosy. Spiral stairs take you to the grand room and a lovely adjacent sitting room. Further up the stairs are the 5 stunning bedrooms all tastefully decorated. There is a dungeon and cellar to store your drinks. No licence so take...

My husband and I have just returned from a spectacular weekend at Barcaldine Castle with Liz and Ronnie. This is the first trip in a long time where i have could have been knocked over by a feather as to how fantastic the whole package is. The castle - simply stunning. I have never seen such beauty. Located just a...

My partner brought me to Barcaldine Castle for a surprise birthday treat. The Barcaldine room was a treat with its turret, claw-foot bath and extras like bath robes, good quality chocolate etc! In addition, the characterful hall where one has breakfast and afternoon tea (highly recommended!) together with the parlour and the large open fire combined to create a sense...
