We’ve had the best weekend away staying with David. He’s a truly a wonderful host. The room was so comfortable, with a divine bed and a lovely en suite with a really interesting and unusual shower. The attention to detail was beautiful. Breakfast was out of this world. It's safe to say that Breakfast Trifle is now in our regular vocabulary at home. David is such an attentive host, the breakfast was delicious. It was so nice that everything was local, and we even managed to take home some of the local eggs. During the day there was always the offer of a tea tray (we were even promised it in the early hours, but we didn't feel the need to wake up everyone!). The location is spot on, and David had recommendations for all sorts of places to go. We had some lovely trawls around antiques shops. Needless to say we will be back there again as soon as we can!

We really enjoyed our stay at Parsons House. As an older couple we were very happy with the safety precautions ( COVID 19) put in place. We loved the house and the breakfast was tremendous. We would certainly stay at Parsons House should we return again to Hartington. David is an excellent host, and treated us amazingly and cups of tea were plentiful at all times of day. A truly exceptional B&B. Thank you David for helping to make these few days away in Derbyshire one of the best that we have had over the last 20 years spent visiting the peaks. The location is right in the centre of the village and has off street parking

Stayed here for a long weekend and it was truly delightful. Decor is beautifully unique, a welcome change from the monotony of chain hotels. The wooden and copper shower we had in the white room is to die for! Our host David was very welcoming and always on hand with plentiful offers of the most delicious tea and biscuits. He catered easily for my vegan partner and we felt very spoiled at breakfast time, bread from the local baker and eggs from then hens next door! The village of Hartington itself is tiny and very peaceful (before the walkers arrive around 9am anyway!) and an excellent base for hiking. The only improvement to be made for us was the bed, with the mattress being too springy and the pillows being too soft, it was quite difficult to get comfortable enough to sleep through the night. Everything else was perfect though including the fluffy housecat Maude :)

Thank you for your review and your kind comments. I am sorry the bedding gave you interrupted sleep. The majority of mattresses on the market are memory foam and therefore no good to us as it would remember the previous guest's shape and posture and not the current guest. Having said that most of our guests find the bedding comfortable but thank you for pointing this out as future guests should choose 'The Grey Room' if they have the similar concerns. As for Maude she only cares about her reviews, being a cat nothing else matters !

We stayed 2 nights and would have happily stayed longer. David is a wonderful host, welcoming and there is unlimited tea and coffee. The room we had Grey room on the ground floor was great. Lovely bedding and a great en-suite. The real highlight is breakfast. The compote was just wonderful and then a choice of cooked breakfast with the most wonderful ingredients. There is also a lovely cat - Maude!! Hartington is a great village and we did a great walk from the B&B. This B&B is brilliant and well worth a visit.
