A great hostel with helpful and knowledgeable staff. Rooms and kitchen spotless. The restaurant was good value and the meal served quickly. Breakfast was good. The village gets busy at the weekend so if you fancy eating in either of the pubs, book in advance.
We were a group of 2 adults and 2 children. We had an amazing time in the bell tents. We lit the fire pit and toasted marshmallows. Used the games from the games room and found the accommodation to be very comfortable and clean. If I was being picky I would say mattress is on the firm side for me and the pillow was very large (I had to sleep without). The light in the bell tent wasn't working and they couldn't fix it whilst we were there. It worked out well as the girls went to sleep earlier and didn't run around turning the lights on lol. The facilities are amazing, clean and well organised. Staff couldn't be more helpful when approached. Amazing location.
Really enjoyed our stay at Hartington Hall. Wonderful location and friendly staff. Big private en-suite room, comfortable beds. Only issues were room was a bit hot and low ceilings. Breakfast good. Bit of a hill on way back from village.
Lovely hostel, with friendly and supportive staff, having stayed several times previously. May be in need of a little TLC and upgrade, but the pizza's and breakfast can't be faulted. Addition of outdoor pods and Yurt's look a great idea and good fun too :P
Hartington Hall is exceptional. Location is amazing and facilities are the highest standard in all but the most recently refurbished hostels. The lounge areas are reminiscent of a homely panelled country pub and a joy to relax in after a long day out.
