I visited Hartington with a cousin as it was central place to stop during a short tour of the White Peak. I chose Stanner Cottage after looking it up on Tripadviser and wasn't disappointed. Our room was clean and pleasant with an en suite. We were given keys so we could come and go as we pleased. The landlady, Sue, was very helpful and informative. The breakfast was ample and nicely cooked. I would use this B & B again if I was in the area.
A very warm welcome, cozy clean room and fabulous breakfast. Central to the Peaks a great place to stay. Sue and Steve will make you very welcome we had a brilliant stay. Local pubs provide great evening meals and the Peaks and Dales great views.
Cosy and comfortable twin room in this sweet cottage run by lovely couple Sue and Steve. In the heart of Hartington this little B&B is very convenient for exploring the beautiful countryside. The village itself is delightful and remains unsloiled despite habing two pubs, a tea room, cheese shop, two gift shops and great little village store. Fish and chip can vists each Friday - bonus! Our hosts were super-helpful. Lovely breakfasts and we had fresh towels each day and a room spruce up. Thanks for a lovely visit.
We have just spent a wonderful few days at Stanner Cottage for my wife's birthday. Sue and Steve made us extremely welcome, the room was lovely overlooking the village pond. Breakfast was great and the beds were really comfortable. Will always use this B&B when visiting the White Peak. Thank You Sue and Steve.
First stay at Stanner Cottage. Extremely welcoming. Sue and Steve are a lovely couple and made us feel quite at home. Scrumptious breakfasts. We stayed in the twin room overlooking the village pond. Very comfy beds. Devonshire pub in village great for evening meals and also the Manifold pub literally 2 mins drive away. We enjoyed our stay so much we have already re booked again for August. Will always use this b&b when visiting the white peak.
Have stayed before and will stay again - Stanner cottage located in the centre of Hartingdon, a starting point for numerous walks - The hosts of the B&B are welcoming and informative, the rooms are cosy & comfortable, breakfast tasty & filling.😋
Beautifully located in the centre of Hartington village, just a few steps away from the Charles Cotton Hotel and the village tearooms. Peaceful without being remote. Lots of free parking just outside so no need to carry heavy bags too far. Warm, friendly welcome on arrival. Rooms are all en suite, clean and cared for as well as being good value for money. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice to accomodate everyone's taste. Would definitely stay there again if I was in the area. Thank you for making our weekend complete.
I would rate this lovely bed and breakfast accommodation as excellent. My daughter and I recently stayed at Stanner Cottage for three nights. Sue and Steve were great hosts and could not do enough for us. There was also ample free parking in the village car park which was only a very short distance away from the accommodation. We shared the twin room that overlooked the village pond. It was spotlessly clean, well furnished and with everything you could possibly need, in it. There was also constant hot water for showers which didn’t fluctuate in temperature. Although Stanner Cottage is situated in the centre of the village it was very quiet at night which meant we got a good night's sleep. Each morning we were served an excellent hearty breakfast which we could not fault, that set you up for the day. Sue and Steve also willingly filled our flask with boiling water each morning and also took the time to mark out on the map scenic drives for us. If I returned to the area I would certainly book in again and would have no hesitation in recommending Stanner Cottage to anyone visiting the area. Thank you Sue and Steve for a lovely stay. Linda and Karen…
Very welcoming and a great central location. Hosts offered great advice about walks in the area. Rooms were fine, with one of the best showers I think I've had at a B&B - pressure AND heat..! Only downside was the TV reception for the football was hit and miss - need a booster for the aerial.! Sue even booked us a table at the local pub (Devonshire Arms), prior to our arrival, which was most welcome as it was very busy! Would recommend to anyone visiting the area
Stayed there with a couple of mates for 2 nights last weekend we were there for a reunion in Hartington and some walking. Steve and Sue were very friendly and couldn't do enough, premises conveniently situated and very clean with wonderful breakfasts. With very reasonable pricing at £30 per night this must surely be one of the best n the Peak District. Availability of Wifi to pick up e-mails given poor mobile reception is the only possible improvement I could recommend. Many thanks and see you next year.
