Stayed here for one night to celebrate our anniversary and paid an extra £30 for an upgraded room. Room was ok but could have done with a good clean and needs a refurb Cobwebs in the bathroom and dirty mirrors etc. so not worth paying extra for as no extra little touches you get at other hotels. Booked an evening meal which was mediocre and we were put on a table pushed against the end of the bar and so we moved as soon as we'd eaten. Breakfast was ok and staff friendly. The village is the saving grace as stunning. All in all a little disappointed given was for a special occasion. Think it is overpriced too.

Lovely village location. Breakfast cooked to order so meal was hot and appetising Bedroom was clean with modern bathroom. Shower over bath was good and good fluffy towels. Ate in the hotel both evenings and food was a fair price for the quality, again freshly cooked and hot. Definitely need to book a table as gets very busy due to lack of eating places in the village in the evening. If there on Wednesday would recommend the steak night special. €30 for 2 people with a carafe of wine. Steak is served with chips, salad, tomato, mushrooms and onion rings. Did not skimp on quality or quantity with this deal.

A lovley old hotel with a lot of history and very friendly. The meals were lovely and as its popular you need to pre book.It is in a very good position for Beresford Dale and the cheese shop. There is a bus stop in the green. The parking is at the back of the hotel but it is a tight squeeze if you have a big car.The hotel was clean and there is a lounge.I will certainly go back.

The pictures on Groupon are false and nothing like the room we were given, Room 6. On arrival and driving around the back to the car park we immediately was hit with a very strong smell of cow manure so would not sit in the small beer garden. Got to our room of which was clean but in desperate need of a make over, the bath panel did not fit right and the décor was very dated. Luckily we had nice weather and did not need the bathroom radiator on full blast however, we could not turn it off or down. Our worst nightmare was soon evident when we sat on the bed... the mattress was very outdated and soft to the point if you sat on the edge you would roll off.

Just had lunch in this hotel. Fishcake ok but salad consisted of only letuce leaves that could be bought in any super market in a bag (no tomato, onion or cucumber). I found a leaf that was slimy and brownish which made me leave the rest of the so called salad. When I complained the manager said sorry but did not accept responsibility. My friends both had the roast beef dinner which was warm rather than hot and the roast potatoes looked unappetising, as if they had been cooked some time ago. VERY POOR, WON'T BE RETURNING!
