Beautiful farmhouse, built in 1859 and laiden with character. The grand en-suite bedrooms accompanied by a home cooked farmhouse breakfast provide a homely and comfortable holiday for all. Children are very welcome and there is a family room available. A guests lounge with television, DVD, Video facilities and a wood burning fire for those chilly evenings. The farmhouse also provide freshly baked scones and cream teas, and will provide lunches, dinners and packed lunches on request. This B&B is set in the magnificent Peak District, and just half a mile from the quaint village of Hartington. It is ideal for exploring the Peak District, visiting Chatsworth, the towns of Ashbourne and Buxton, walking in the Peaks, and it is also close to Alton Towers.

Lovely welcome, lovely place, lovely location! This is proper rural England at its best and most genuine. Breakfast was delicious in front of the fire watching the rugby. (Thanks Jane!) Beds were super comfortable and just overall very relaxing stay!!

We have had a lovely stay at this B and B... however we did read the reviews before coming and knew what to expect... Some reviews have been a bit harsh of this lovely old working farm... and that’s exactly what it is! We also searched for other places to stay and you do get what you pay for. This is somewhere unique, oozing character and tranquility. The hostess was lovely and couldn’t do enough to try and make our stay welcome. Delicious cooked breakfast provided at a time of our choice. The decor is dated as you would expect in an old farmhouse but what an amazing location and beautiful scenery. I think that reports of it being dirty are harsh. Like I say, just more of a rustic interior than a more modern guesthouse. But to us that made the stay more memorable.

We stayed here three weeks ago during very hot weather. Our room was spacious and cool despite the heat outside. We had one small, but comfortable double bed and a single. Decor is traditional and furniture farmhouse style. We had a really good night's sleep. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided and a nice touch was a jug of fresh milk left outside our room. The breakfast was filling and tasty and Mary ensured we had everything we needed. The place has a real sense of history and I suspect Americans would love it. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Bank Top Farm in April and I cannot recommend Jane's hospitality more highly. From start to finish, she was attentive, informative and made us feel at home. The house exudes authenticity and rustic charm without the usual shabby chic look. Bank Top Farm offers stunning views and near total seclusion. The perfect getaway.
