I simply don't recommend that place. Service want to profit of our ignorance and pay for services we haven't get. They make us attitude and haven't made our experience pleasant. Complete scam Don't go there.

As described in former comment I was the one that was 'too tired' to complaint at night but also had used sheets on my bed so decided to sleep in my sleeping bag. Bought tickets voor the VIP bus to Luang Prabang en specifically asked for single seat as I heard the terrible stories of the sleeper bus. Payed 60.000...

Unfortunately, it was late in the evening before I turned down the bedspread to 'hop in' only to get my very first on the road "Whose Been Sleeping in My Bed?!" shock. The sheets were clearly dirty and there were traces of two people's hair in there as well. So I went down to the lobby, and calmly explained the...

The Guesthouse in terms of facilities and rooms are fine and prices ok but the staff is lying to you regarding Slow Boat tickets. They promise to organize you seats in the front for an extra 20,000 kip onto the 220,000 kip for the ticket itself. We along with 7 other trusted him and booked through the guest house. Next...

The main tourists stay in the town in order to take the slow boat or when they came from it. This hostel is really good and also offers a good price. Rooms are clean, the staff is nice. Recommendable!

Easy to find (there's a big signal at the entrance) in a central part of the town (10 mins walking from the pier), the hotel is quite basic but good; rooms are quite big (compared to Laotian average), hot water, free wifi, good sleeping quality; not as cheap as I though, but still a good price for a pivate room...

I had no complaints about this hotel, a little pricy and no transparency on what the kip price would be, until I tried to get out at night and realised that as they had used a bike lock on the front door (no sign of the key) and locked the kitchen which leads to the only other ground floor door...

We stayed there before and after the Gibbon experience as it is only a few meters sways from their office. Nothing special. Pretty basic and the staff tries to sell you the tuk-tuk rides of family members at a high price. Plenty of restaurants around.

The guesthouse is on the main road, with a really good location. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and bright. The shower runs perfectly. Many people stayed here, but it wasn't crowded. Recommended after the gibbon experience to have a relaxing stay on a good bed and with hot shower.

We stayed in Sabaydee Guesthouse prior to and after the Gibbon Express. It is definitely not worth its current rating on Tripadvisor. The rooms are below basic (and not really clean) and the service could be improved.
