Our welcome could not have been better, our room very comfortable and to a high standard of cleanliness. The food was superb both at breakfast and at dinner. The small town of Bishop's Castle is unique and well worth browsing, very friendly people. We would highly recommend the hotel. The view from the gardens is lovely and no doubt in...

Having just spent a 3 night break at The Castle Hotel in the Market Square Cottage we found it to be truly relaxing. The cottage has been refurbished in a beautiful fresh theme yet keeping some original features i.e. beams in the bedroom. Has everything you need, from modern fully functioning bathroom, dressing table area to get ready to the...

I once went to The Castle Hotel many years ago and had such an appalling meal that I swore I would never return. Still makes me shudder to think of it, however... I have returned for of all things a 'Baby Shower'! (said in an American accent). Well from the moment we arrived the welcome, service and friendly nature of...

How often can you lie in a hot bath, supping a G and T whilst gazing at the visual feast of the Shropshire Hills through the window. Stunning! A fine room with a giant and comfortable bed. All the details attended to and everything working. The evening meal was delicious, the service excellent and the breakfast equally good. This is...

Stayed three nights in this charming hotel with our two large dogs. We took the bed breakfast and meal option and so glad we did because the food was glorious. Although there is a garden attached to the hotel we decided too take the dogs for their early and evening walks to a nearby playing field however, there is a...

Stayed here for one night with my mum for a visit in the Shropshire Hills. The hotel is situated in the heart of the medieval town on the top of a hill. Very clean room with lovely amenities. Great friendly staff too!! I especially love the history the building holds - take a look in the guest information booklet in...

Just the one night this time but we will be back in April. A fascinating old inn in a lovely part of England. All aspects to a high standard. This is an old property, so don't expect every amenity that you will find in a modern , international hotel but this is more than made up for by the history,...
