Pleasant stay at the Park Hotel in the city of Tornio. Ample parkingspace always a plus. A nice and well equipped suite - with a balcony. Always a plus in the summer. Two restaurants in the hotel building. We only got to dine in one of them. A bit early to close the dining places at 22.00 in the tourist period, but we nonetheless managed to get a nice meal both evenings at the Aino restaurant.
The hotel also has a relax section om the basement floor - with saunas (of course) and a swimming pool. Looked nice, although we didn’t get to test the facilities. Cudos to the employees also. Communication in English or Swedish/Norwegians.
The biggest, and almost only let down, was the breakfast. The first morning I was pleased, with a sort of English breakfast with toast, tomato beans, bacon and scrambled eggs. No fried eggs, though… The next morning however, the tomato beans and the toast was missing. I asked for the toast bread, but the reply was that the bread was frozen. And the third morning also the bacon was gone. Not much else to eat instead either. But the croissants were good and so was the coffee.

All in all a nice stay in Tornio, and a hotell we can recommend. But the breakfast is important, especially when you stay for three nights. Therefore, not a top score this time!

Excellent staff and recently updated dining room and bar at this Hotel.
However on arrival was informed that a decision had been taken recently to close the dining room and bar after breakfast.
The closure of this superb restaurant and bar was obviously a disappointment and detracted from the overall impression of the hotel.
The alternative for lunch or dinner was a Mexican themed restaurant about 150 metres walk away and if in poor weather was not a suitable alternative to dining in the hotel.
Note that the hotel still had signs outside advertising an 'a la carte' restaurant which is clearly misleading.

This is a nice hotel in a small city. Good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Location is also fine, you can walk to the city center in 10 minutes. Also the restaurant has a couple of fine selections which we had our dinners.

Very centrally located 20 min walk to city centre. Located across from taxi rank and lake .Large shampoo, split system for heating with heated bathroom floor, tea making facilities,no refrigerator, hair dryer very nice and varied buffet breakfast .Dinners where very nice as well .Friendly staff. A pleasure to have stayed there .My one complaint and this I experience for all hotels that I stayed is the hot water or lack of in the shower water temp set and some of the showers who designs these ?

Stayed here with a tour group over the Christmas period. Nice hotel, updated bathroom with heated floor etc.VERY friendly and helpful staff at the front desk - even to the point of teaching me a few Finnish words each day, to try out on our tour guide. Buffet breakfasts are good value with lots of choices. Sauna and pool all clean, modern and tidy. Easy walk to the shops - and even across the border into Sweden! The area around the hotel seemed okay, but with all the snow about, I can't say anything about the lake/river and park lands. There is a K-Supermarket within a two minute walk from the hotel. As for my room, I had a single supplement room with a large bed. Nice, modern decor with plenty of space, fairly fast wi-fi and a good sized TV. I did not hear any noise from other rooms at all. Shower was hot enough (pre-selected temp control). One elevator - only an issue when a group of folks were checking in at the same time with luggage etc. For the smokers - outside at the front doors. If I were to visit this area again, I would certainly book this hotel.

I guess my first visit to this hotel was more than 10 years ago, and I have to notice some significant improvements during the recent time. The rooms and bathrooms got renovated and updated. It has not become a luxury place, but still appears to be quite tidy and smart hotel. The room was spotlessly clean. During the breakfast time, the dining room was full of guests, but personnel still managed to keep it clean and tidy. I do not think that the hotel has got air conditioning in the rooms. I discovered however a big ventilator in the room. I have not used it, but I certainly appreciate the effort from the hotel. The renovation has not changes the parking place, which is still quite small. There is however plenty of space at the front side of the building, nearby taxes, and it is free of charge. By the way, the hotel is easy to find, and this is important, when you are driving.

I spent 5 nights at this hotel in June 2016 when I went to Tornio for midnight golf. The hotel is very comfortable, rooms are fair size, a good restaurant, a nice sauna and a decent breakfast. It is close to city center and restaurants in the area. It is also very close to the Green Zone Golf club where you can golf 24 hours a day.It is only one hour from Oulu which is the second largest city in Finland

Park Hotel has a central location. You can reach the city center easily by foot and the twin city of Haparanda Sweden as well. Taxi is just in front of the hotel. The hotel has recently renewed rooms. Our room for two persons was spacy and clean. It may be of standard quality but it satisfies your needs for accommodation. Hotel offers also suites and rooms for disabled. Breakfast was good with no specialties. There are four restaurants, a sauna department, a playroom for kids etc. We found the personnel friendly and service minded.
There are a lot of places of interest for Tourists in and around Tornio/Haparanda. Tornio river is the last big free flowing river in the North. A golf links divided by the border, Art Gallery, a Regional Museum, an old Church one of it's kind, shopping centers, fishing etc. We can recommend Park Hotel as a Base for your exploration of this very special region in the World. You can include city of Kemi only 26 kms away in your travelplan as well.

Stayed here for about one week, overall services for ex. staffs friendliness, breakfast were good. Close to the city center and to the shops at the Sweden is a plus.
The room I was provided was close to the road and above the bar. Often got awake in the night because of the music at the bar and was close to the road that could hear clearly everything happening on the road. Poor soundproof room !!!
