About 10 to 15 minutes walk. You have to take the underground passage to the south side not to the main entrance on the North side. If you look up the Aosta train station on Google maps you will find a pathway marked crossing all train tracks. That way you can mark the southern exit of the underground pathway connecting all platforms.
Incidentally this is the same route to take when walking from the guesthouse to the old city [about 25 -30 minutes to the Porta Pretoria. Not only the entrance to the old city but also very near a helpful tourist information office
