We were a group of 4 looking for somewhere near Edinburgh, but due to the rugby and most places we Were booked up. as we had the car the 15th minute drive want a problem.2 of us arrived early as we had to check in and then we'd be out all day, found the hotel no problem, looked splendid in...

We were arriving late but that was not a problem for the host. An evening platter was arranged and served in the dining room. We sat very quiet and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We selected the place cause of the close location to airport, only a few kilometers. Once there we felt sorry that we didn't stay longer...

This was a huge disappointment - a run-down b&b at hotel prices. For £330 for two nights bed and breakfast (for 3 people in 2 rooms) this represents poor value for money. We were expecting a relaxing stay in a comfortable country house. Perhaps even a bit of luxury for that price? The house is in a time-warp from the...

We stayed here for two nights whilst up to see the Tattoo in Edinburgh. Just a short drive from the city and ideally located close to the railway (a two minute walk) this is an excellent place to stay. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and felt like we were visiting family rather than staying in a...

This was like Downton Abbey, on a smaller and more personable scale. We stayed for only one night, but I would gladly return for a longer stay. The location is great, just a few miles from EDI airport, and also a few minutes walk to a train station with direct access to Waverley in Edinburgh. There are no eateries in...

Lovely secluded B & B. Beautiful old house in it's own grounds. Very welcoming and helpful owners. We had a large double bedroom with its own en suite bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. TV. Lovely cooked breakfast. B & B is 5 min walk from rail station (20 mins into Edinburgh)

We stayed here as a base to visit Edinburgh: it is an easy drive into the city and also nearby park & ride. The House is a former Manse, well furnished and full of character with lovely gardens and great views to the North. Our room was very comfortable, our hostess Jill was very welcoming and we enjoyed an excellent...

We stayed here for two nights. Jill, our hostess was very accommodating and didn't mind our late arrival from Edinburgh airport! Lovely breakfast both mornings and our room was great. We had a car, so it was a quick drive to the 'Park and Ride' to catch a bus into the city center. We would definitely recommend this B&B. The...

A traditional Scottish manse, beautifully furnished and comfortable. We chose it as we wanted to visit Jupiter Artland, a sculpture park nearby. We were made very welcome and would definitely go again.

We booked here for the night before and night of our wedding. Our wedding was 400m away at Kirknewton Stables so Highfield could not have been more ideal. The house is huge and beautiful. The rooms are a great size, comfortable and homely. Jill was a fantastic host, very helpful and friendly. This would be a great place to stay...

“Kirknewton is very small. There is a chip shop, a pub and a small grocery store. It is a short drive to the Rosslyn Chapel.”

“At least one room has its own, separate bathroom on your "own" short corridor (with unlockable door) whilst others have en suite facilities fully within the room. No need to choose between front and back of house - it's all quiet.”
