Lovely stay with a trip to Baths xmas fayre - best avoided as trains were a nightmare ! Comfy room - fantastic shower with loads of hot water ! Buffet breakfast fresh, filling and good choice ! Ideal location for touring the area.Quite close to Bath and much cheaper accommodation. We had a fantastic breakfast with plenty of choice. Stayed in the room with a queen bed which was sooo comfortable. Brilliant stay!

What the owners have created here should be a model for Family Run Hotels. They have taken a older building, converted it to retain the feel of a traditional, typically English hotel and equipped it with all the modern features that you would get in a 5 star chain hotel. Let's start with the welcome. Friendly, nothing too much trouble,...

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the proprietors Audrey and Eddy Marshall, who made us feel very welcome. They explained the amenities in the hotel, before we went up to our room. There was a large double bed, with a single bed in one room and a separate single room with a shower attached. Our room was large, well appointed,...

This is a gem of a Hotel. I stayed in a double room with shower room and toilet. The room was spotless the shower was great and I had a great night sleep. Lovely grounds and the breakfast was magnificent. Audrey & Eddie were the perfect hosts. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel to anyone. I will return.

A lovely stay, picturesque surroundings and very friendly owners. Best for me was the food. They don't offer a restaurant service but prepare an evening meal and for a very reasonable price I got a really good home cooked roast dinner, quality ingredients and well cooked. The lemon meringue cheesecake was also quite special. I'd definitely go back.

We stayed here for three nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, as Ronny48 says, maybe it is a grand old building in need of refurbishment in places and yes, some furnishings are stuck in the 80's. BUT you have to balance that against the genuine warm welcome of the owners, the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and...

Perhaps I was just unlucky and got one of the poorer rooms but I just can't agree with many of the reviews on Hilbury Court. Its a grand old building but in dire need of refurbishment. I had a single room (9) which was poky, old fashioned, had the worlds creakiest bed, toilet and basin in a cupboard and a...

We spent one night here while exploring the surrounding area and were highly impressed by the attention to detail evident throughout. Moreover the owners are the soul of friendliness and care - very refreshing in our age of surly service and couldn't-give-a-damn attitude.
