Small family owned hotel. The owner is also the chef in the hotels good restaurant. Located not far from Carcasonne. Very quiet. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. Offer views of the surrounding countryside. Nice swimmingpool for the kids. The restaurant serves very good food based on local recipies and produce. Familly owners are very friendly and service minded.

We phoned ahead for a table for a Saturday lunch. It wasn't actually necessary but we were reassured. We were greeted by a really nice/friendly waiter and seated promptly ... and with a view. Our apero order was taken and a disarmingly simple lunch menu presented. The choices were impressive and presented wonderful choices. The crab dish starter was amazing... More

We ate here a few years ago and enjoyed that so much that we made a special trip from Beziers to eat there again. The chef is Fabien Galibert and the restaurant is run by his wife Priscilla. Both are excellent by any standards, food and service is first class. All of this is delivered in an upscale, but very... More

What a beautiful place! We wanted to go to Carcassonne, but didn't want to stay in the hectic old town, so we chose la bergerie, 10 km away and in the middle of the mountains. I don't even know where to begin complementing this places. They allowed us to bring our dogs (two 36kg dogs) which for us is a... More

We arrived in the middle of the heat wave, July 2015, and were tucked into our room and then the swimming pool in no time at all. Dinner at the hotel was brilliant, and we extended our stay to a second night and another dinner. The town is very walkable, intriguing streets and houses, and the room had a lovely... More

This was our second visit here and we had a wonderful 2 night stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a terrace overlooking the valley. On our first evening we tried the restaurant's 'menu decouverte': an excellent 7-course selection of beautifully prepared and presented food matched at each course with wines selected by the hosts. Fabien really knows... More

The location is beautiful and the rooms perfectly appointed, although not large. The semi-private terrace outside each room is great as is the swimming pool. The food is what we went for and it is very inventive. The amuse-bouche were a little ordinary, even lacking flavour, but the starter of haddock and egg with cauliflower cream was delicious, The kidneys with... More

An amazing restaurant, choose the tasting menu with wine for the best experience. Rooms are simple, comfortable and well maintained. If you are staying at La Bergerie, arrive early so you can sit out with a glass of wine in the afternoon and enjoy the views. We stayed a few days and, having had most of the dishes on the... More

The hotel is just outside the village. Rooms are immaculate, modern and comfortable with individual small patios, and there is a small outdoor pool.Service was good. The set dinner was stunning and comprised five courses including smoked mackerel, quail, and bream, beautifully presented and served in manageably small portions.( It was expensive though.) Breakfast slightly disappointing- no fresh juice only... More

A wonderful location, and simply amazing food. I travel the world eating wonderful food and this compares with some of the very best - a wonderful experience, particularly as I'm a non-meat eater in France! I stayed with my Mum and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Staff were delightful, accommodation was great, we will look for another opportunity to return.
