When staying in Clarens, Sir Henry's Guest House is my favourite guest house in the area. The rooms are always clean, breakfast is plentiful and the views amazing. On my last trip the owner even took time out from his busy schedule to help me with my faulty car. This speaks volumes for his desire to help his guests and... More

My wife and I have visited Clarens in the winter for the past four years. We were unable to get a booking at the B&B we usually stay at so we booked at Sir Henry's because four years ago it had ranked as one of the best on tripadvisors list of places to stay in Clarens. It has in recent... More

For the price - this is one of Claren's more expensive accommodation offerings - I had expected not just a little more, but a lot more. We came down from Joburg and had decided to pay a premium to be able to enjoy an experience where we had to do little thinking for ourselves, and leave the house packed with... More

What an amazing weekend. Our host was so friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious with spectacular views. Food was Master Chef quality so be prepared to add a few kilos... Home from home. Highly recommended. Thanks so much for a weekend we'll never forget! Ruth and Carl Woodland

Room is well kept and the underfloor heating, fireplace and electric blankets ensured a warm stay. Loved the welcome Sherry and the complimentary wood. The breakfast is phenomenal, simply put 5 star! We enjoyed our time at Sir Henry's and would definitely return.

Great food even better company , booked out all seven rooms used meeting facility .Rooms where great and the staff and owner Ralph went out of his way to accommodate the team , beats a big impersonal hotel anyway. Next time will do a garden function on the beautiful grounds

First I have to say, that the breakfast is really good. The food is fresh cooked and delicious. Nevertheless I would'nt stay a second time in this guesthouse because the interior is really old and grubby. There are a lot of things to replace. For example our bedsheets had holes and the bathrobes were yellowed..

For people coming driving from Joburg it is a nice drive. Once you leave the highway the roads and the surroundings offer nice views and the drive will become less stressful. As always on R- and D- routes in South Africa, be careful with the pottholes. We were friendly welcomed and show our room which is pretty and nice. All... More

At our last stop before Jo'burg; it was perfect. Breakfest and diner were perfect (owner is ex-chief cook). The chat afterwards also. We walked to the town for some shopping. On the first day we had our diner in town. Many good choises.

This guesthouse is truly a lovely and friendly place to stay. Janine (the new manager) even phoned while we were en route to enquire about our progress and expected time of arrival. We were then greeted by all the friendly "hosts" ... Janine, the cute colourful rooster who even accompanied us into our room (Room 1, "Lafenis"), and the trusty... More
