I was nervous to book due to reviews I had seen but thought we could give it a try anyway!!!! Nicky was very pleasant when we arrived and asked us to give them some more time to clean the bathroom a bit more (this was around 4.30pm). When we got to the room, the dirty sheets were in a pile...

Besides being very affordable, there is absolutely nothing else to report over this place. Not ideal for a family stay - good for passing by cow boys. Stayed for one night only. Plenty youngsters maintaining a flower power vibe. Friendly people running the place.

Four of us was on a road trip. We wanted to upgrade to a room, but they were fully booked. So decided to camp in the front garden as originally planned. We had a nice little grass spot with a braai. Bathrooms are a bit disappointing with toilets with no doors. The town itself is worth the visit. At the...

I stayed in A-hive which is beautiful and unique but the door couldn't close properly and the outside bathroom is not fit for use. My parents stayed in the honeymoon suite which had almost the most basic requirements but not quite. Braai area was not clean when we arrived and the units weren't clean either. It seems as if the...

We stayed at this backpackers on an over night stay, We arrived, paid, were shown our lodging for the night and never again saw the lady running things. The rooms were fairly well maintained and clean but the linen in the bed was stinky. Being a backpackers I thought that this might be semi acceptable until I stayed at other...

Had a great time here. The rooms were clean and neat when we arrived. You get what you pay for. The mountain in the background is beautiful and all the restaurants are very close. People are really friendly in the town.

Stayed in the honeymoon suite for one night. Did not expect much but at least a clean room. However, the bedding was dirty and the bed was slept in. Had to ask for clean bedding. The bath was not clean and the room was dusty. Would not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed in the family hut and was very impressed with the space of the room. The unit was neat and clean. We loved the cosy fireplace and was so impressed with the firefighters and firewood left for our perusal. For the price we expected the minimum and we were surprised with so much more! We will definitely return.

After reading a diversity of reviews we got curious and booked at Clarens Inn & Backpackers. We didn't have too many expectations as some of the reviews were not satisfying at all but we definitely had a good experience. The host who we made the booking with was there on arrival and made sure the room was heated (it is...

At first when I read the reviews while planning my trip to Clarens I thought what the hell since everything else was full. But surprisingly contrary to the odd negative reviews, I found out that there was nothing wrong with the backpackers. I suspect that people who wrote the negative reviews were looking for a hotel at backpacker's rates. Nicky...
