I was lucky enough to spend 3 days with Morag and Alisdair in their lovely home. It was more like visiting relations than a B&B, they couldn't have done more for their guests, nothing was too much trouble. Local knowledge of the area and amenities available were second to none - they could get a job with Visit Scotland no...

We stayed 2 nights. Lochside has a friendly, generous atmosphere, is very clean, breakfast fine, Morag and Alastair very helpful in directing guests to the best places to visit on the island. Would stay there again.

This is a small bed and breakfast, offering twin/double rooms for £60. We called at short notice and had owner could accommodate us. The place offered shared bathroom facilities but the whole place wad was spotless lying clean. Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, also a TV and sink. Comfy beds and crisp clean bedding. We have just spent 2 nights at Lochside. Our room was very comfortable with twin beds, the bathroom was shared with another couple. Breakfasts are preordered the night before. Alastair and Morag are very happy to make your stay very enjoyable! A very enjoyable stay made also more interesting by our fellow travellers.

We stayed three nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The bedroom was warm and comfortable, the sun lounge overlooking the lochan was at our disposal and a great place to relax after days out, and the bathroom is immediately outside the bedroom door so its not being en-suite was barely noticeable. Best of all are hosts Morag and Alistair...

We stayed two nights here and could to have been happier. Our Rome was small but very comfortable with everything we needed. There was a super comfy sunroom to sit in and talk with other guests and our host was always ready with a cup of tea and homemade goodies. Breakfasts were delicious and freshly cooked, with black pudding from...

Needed somewhere very close to Lochboisdale pier for an early departure the following morning. I received a very warm welcome and a really good pot of Yorkshire tea and slice of cake. The room was comfortable and warm. I would highly recommend.

We stayed with Morag and Alistair for two nights. They were very welcoming and friendly. There was a beautiful lounge overlooking the loch, which was lovely to sit in and relax. The bedroom was very comfortable and quiet and we had two lovely nights rest. Breakfast was so good that there was no need for lunch. The whole house was...

We've been on a cycle trip on the Hebridean Cycleway from Lewis down to Barra. As we arrived on South Uist the beautiful weather condition changed so that we have to look for a room instead of camping ground. And what we've found was MacDonalds Home, called Loch Side Cottage. It was a really great, warm welcome and home-like stay....

Stayed for a night whilst delivering material to a building site. Lovely couple Alastair and Morag couldn't be more welcoming. Morag made a lovely evening meal and a beautiful breakfast. I would recommend this b and b to anyone visiting the island.
