Spacius room but lack of proper maintainance is obvious. Cannot compete with new comers in town or near border to Cambodia. It is located just 5-7 minutes walk from the train station. It is located in the same compound of Bus Terminal. If for your leasure trip, recommended others.

Aran Mermaid Hotel is an older style hotel and in its prime would have been one of Aranyprathet's grand hotels. However, like an aging maiden aunt, she is showing the years that numerous huge urns of fabric hydrangea and roses placed everywhere you step cannot disguise. The carpets are threadbare and the furnishings are chipped and worn. Having said that,...

The Mermaid's staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. Another positive is that the hotel offers free, fast (3.5 mbps) wifi. Unfortunately, gracious service and internet access could not make up for what is otherwise a dilapidated hotel with ants, peeling walls and failing air conditioning. Moreover, the Mermaid is relatively expensive (750 to 1600 baht) as compared to higher rated...

If you have a mold allergy, you probably want to stay away from this hotel. The wall paper in our room was covered with mold. There were also small ants in our bathroom and so woke up with them crawling on us. The wifi and breakfast were great.

Stayed here as part of a cycle trip, this was night 4 of 14. We called it the 'Russian' hotel due to its impressive décor and surroundings but lack of anything else to recommend it. The food was average and the beers they ran out of. In the end we pooled our last Baht's and it worked out we could...

Very nice hotel and good service... good food and etc. I like. Not long way to Rong Kluea Border Market and Aranyaprathet City is a very nice place. Room price and quality are good. Peaceful place. I wanna go again to this hotel. At the same time I go to Rong Kluea Border Market shopping. Market is nice too.

I can't imagine that anyone stays in the Mermaid for a long time. Most guests seem to be heading to Cambodia or the border markets. So, you get what you pay for, and nothing wrong with that. Room ok, and housekeeping are noisy early risers so don't expect a lie-in. Anyway you need to get down early for breakfast as...

We had to spend one night in Aran during our trip to Siem Reap. We wanted to take Market Motel, but our bus was late, child sick, we were tired and finally we decided to take this hotel because is next to bus stop. Price is high compering other places in Aran (aprox 1100 BHT per night but we get...

My cycling buddy and I recently stayed at the Aran Mermaid Hotel on our cycling trip through Thailand and Cambodia. We paid 850 baht per night. The exterior of the hotel and lobby is very nice and clean. The rooms were very good, a bit small for the price, but bed was very very comfortable and the AC kept the...

“Ther Mermaid's smaller, standard rooms appear to have been rennovated more recently than the larger deluxe ones. Accordingly, the less expensive rooms may be nicer.”

“I would not recommend anyone stay here if you'd like to watch television in the evening because there are no stations in English. And even though they tell you and advertise they have WiFi in the room, do not believe it. It does not work in the room.”
