My husband and myself have just returned from a 3 night break at this hotel and how I wish it had been longer. Check in was super easy and within minutes of arrival we were in our room. It was clean and well presented, my only issue was that I have a bad back and the bed had a sprung mattress which wasn’t comfortable for me but saying that I’m sure it wouldn’t have been an issue for anyone else without back conditions. The bathroom was lovely and clean with large bath towels and a constant supply of hot water We had our dog with us and he was allowed in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Their is a separate dining area for people travelling with dogs. They provided water and sausages at breakfast for the dogs. The staff were lovely and very attentive especially the lovely lady that did breakfast every day. The food in the restaurant at night was very nice but on 2 of the 3 nights my husband’s choice off the menu had sold out. The hotel is in a lovely spot with it’s own beer garden and plenty of car parking spaces. Lots of places are easily accessible from its location. Finally for the price it is an absolute gem and my husband myself and my dog shall return. From Edinburgh it took just under 2 hours so it is a fantastic spot for a weekend away. We look forward to our return.

We were on holiday in nearby Ballintuim for a week and visited here twice...and were not disappointed Found the restaurant pleasant with friendly staff and good food A minor criticism was placing us 3 feet from another couple in a quiet otherwise empty restaurant- this became less of an issue as the restaurant became busier- however...not a big deal and we did go back! Reasonable pricing

We stayed here for one night. Room is traditional and a bit dated but typical for type of property, it was clean and had everything we needed. Lounge area for drink before dinner is rather small and lacking in atmosphere, however the dining room was better and we had a great night. Meal was nice but steak pie was a bit underwhelming. Staff were fab, friendly and very helpful. We had a nice walk along the river, which can be accessed from hotel grounds. As dining room is small and gets busy with people just popping in for dinner from nearby caravan park, we appreciated that the hotel contacted us beforehand to ask if we would like to book a table. We would stay here again.
