We had our amazing castle wedding at Víglaš Castle. It was always our dream to have a castle wedding and Vígláš made our dreams come true :) We had ceremony in one of the rooms and reception in the Anjou Court restaurant. The staff were nice and helpful, food was amazing (we had allergies and vegans so loads of work was put to menus). Service was great :) every guest was amazed by the place, atmosphere and just everything, us including :) rooms were great as well :) we will be coming back for our anniversaries for sure!
It is a very special experience to spend a night in a castle basically in the middle of nowhere. The castle has been reconstructed quite recently and is nicely decorated. The tour around was pretty iinteresting. Thellness is good, if there are few people you even get to enjoy it privately. We were not that much satisfied with the food, it did not have a quality of a 4* hotel, not much options and was quite basic, at 9:30 there was few bread and pastry left for breakfast although it was served until 10. Our room was not cleaned during the day, which would also be expected from a 4* hotel. It would also be good if a hotel informed guests when booking if there would be a wedding during their stay as the music at 1 in the night can be quite disturbing. We did not complain as we…
The concept of transforming the historic castle into a hotel is truly interesting, and they have restored the exterior and dining halls well. The breakfast hall was spacious and beautiful, and one of the grandest halls we've had breakfast in. However, the service staff didn't speak English very well and we couldn't communicate well with them, which diluted our experience. - They have a wellness area for customers, which we found out through the directory in the hotel room. It would have been helpful for the staff to inform us at check in, as we were unsure if it is open to all their guests. - We read in the room directory that they have about 8 English TV channels but we couldn't access any. We were told it was due to network issues. - We read that they offer a paid tour of the…
Stayed one night in this truly wonderful establishment located in forestry area of Slovakia. The renovation of a derelict fortress has been a truly magnificent achievement offering outstanding accommodation for all . Restaurant offered a varied menu of excellent quality. Breakfast in main hall was of the same standard. A special mention to Mg Aniko Hudinova who was exceptional in her customer care and genuine warmth. The Hotel are most fortunate to have someone of her nature and professionalism.
We came from Hungary and it'd been for quite a few months that we wished to visit this castle. Finally, the day came and we were not disappointed at all!!! The castle is located in an absolutely unique location that dominates the area with fantastic views. The buildings have been restored to their historic, authentic state with a lot of care to the tiniest details. The staff is highly professional, skillful, helpful and kind. The facilities, comfort and food are first class. We very much enjoyed the spa area with the children. Congratulations and thanks for everything - we'll certainly return!
My parents went there for 3 nights. They were pleased by every detail - rooms were very nice, quiet and clean. cleaning service did their job very well - food was extraordinary, very wide variety of foods, also local ones, rich breakfast - staff was professional; e.g. when passing reception, receptionist stood up to greet always; waiters were amazing - special thanks to masseur (who had plait), his neck and back massage was superb - pool was clean, surroundings were nice as well
we enjoyed our stay here , especially the welness . we did the buffet restaurant two evenings which was Ok , but not a lot of choice. Sufficiant.... There was a wedding going on and therefor i think They forgot to clean the room . A little minus for that . Also the bed is a bit knirky...... we feel fine . Its worth a stay ! Visit Banska Bystrica in the area...
Stayed here for 1 night. I wasnt very happy from the parkig place, cause I had to take the luggage for a while on paving, not to ruin my wheels. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The way to the room took me a while cause I had to walk all around the castle. The room was nice and clean. The view from it was very nice. The bed was nice with touch of a castle history bud the mattress was very soft. There was a aircondition but it was bit loud to have it on while night. The hotel is really big with amazing paintings on the walls and also in the Breakfast restaurant Anjou. There is a wellness but I came late so I didnt try it. Had dinner in a la carte restaurant, but I had to eat it only inside even though it was warm evening, cause there where only small tables outside.…
The Castle isn't too visible from the town or main road but GPS showed us right where to go. The hotel is very nice. Rooms were clean, big and medieval themed. Spa was a great addition - we went to the pool and jacuzzi. We also used the sauna and got massages. Pretty reasonable prices compared to the US. Fun stay. Food is okay but not amazing. Very peaceful and quiet. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a castle experience with some spa accommodations.
We wanted to experience the night in the castle while in Slovakia and this was the perfect hotel for it. The room was spacious. We went to the pool and jacuzzi at 9 pm and we had the whole area to ourselves. The breakfast was a buffet style with a variety of options. It was a great accommodation.
