Stayed only one night with a daughter but will definitely come back in the future. What an amazing place when it comes to the sleeping beauty at castle, transformed into enjoyable hospitality Venue.Loved the Ambiance, location -nesting on the hill. Arrived at the night, received Great Welcome from the Parking Guard - mainly because I took the GM slot for a second just to find a free parking slot:-))) as you need a piece of experience with bigger car here. Very professional receptionist who notice the name of our daughter and used it actively. Great Job. Room was in excellent conditions, it can easily go wrong with furniture at castle style hotel but here was all perfect: very functioning, nice decor, warm noble style. Well stocked minibar with reasonable prices, though too noisy…
We visited this hotel - former castle - in august. We asked for a room with a baldachin bed as our granddaughter is a small Princess... The room was quiet, big, clean ,the bed met the expectations... the bathroom large, all very comfortable. The room was situated in a side building - which was ok as the weather was fine, but in case of rain or snow it would be a disadvantage, as the dining hall, restaurant, wellness and reception are in the main one. We did not mind but it is good to know that accommodation in main building has more advantages. Food in the dining hall - we had half board - was good, tasty, enough for all the guests, but no frill. Food in restaurant was worse, do not order pasta filled with fruit as we had it and it was filled with jam and topped with fresh…
Awesome atmosphere and lots of impressions. Extremely recommend Booked Dracula apartment for one night and were extremely pleased with decorations and atmosphere. Bottle of wine and fruits as a compliment from the hotel 👍
This castle was in ruins in 2009 and is now a great hotel and venue for weddings. Comfortable rooms look like they are from Dracula’s time. Facilities for wedding events are excellent; only trouble is insufficient parking!
The hotel is situated 15 km away from Zvolen. Nice rooms and reconstructed castle. Breakfast choice could be better, it looked like 2-3* hotel breakfast. Nice inner courts, a presentation of hawks and owls at the entrance with possibility to hold them.
The place is amazing! The room was spacious and comfortable with great bed and large bathroom (the shower could have been bigger). We stayed for two nights, used the spa and the tour through the castle. It is a great place to relax and we definitely will be back.
We spent a short romantic stay with my girlfriend at Viglas Castle last summer, where we booked a very nice and spacious medieval deluxe room. Our stay also included a half-board in the form of rich buffet tables and a guided tour of the castle. Despite of the mid-season visit, both hotel as well as restaurants were quiet. The wellness centre is not large but during our stay we were there almost alone and we were very pleased with the massage treatments. We really enjoyed having coffee in the castle´s courtyard.
Nicely reconstructed castle turned into luxury hotel. I heard that also historicians appreciate the way how the reconstrucion was done. There were very few guests during our visit, so we coud enjoy the simming pool and jacuzzi just for ourselves. Extraordinary hand painted decorations on the ceilings in restaurant. They offer free tours through the castle at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 but unforunatelly we missed it. Next time I will be nearby I will surely visit just to see the exhibition. I recommend using 4x4 car during winter season, we had some difficulties to climb the narrow ice covered road leading to the castle. There is not much to do in the night. After 22:00 the spa is closed and only bar is opened. Nice quiet and clean place, but a little bit overpriced considering the…
I have seen it as a sightseeing spot (I have not stayed there) but it functions not only as a tourist attraction but also as a hotel and wellness center. The castle was built on/from the ruins of an actual medieval castle with a big proportion of modern style architecture therefore the building itself is bit strange-looking but interesting in itself. The interior is decorated in medieval style with knight armors, weapon replicas, coat of arms etc. Guided tour led us through the knights room, the dining room, the dragon room and the chapel, and we could feel how great it must be to spend some nights as a guest here. I assume the mixture of original medieval and modern style can be strange and annoying for some people but I enjoyed the place very much.
Beautiful place to stay. The castle is huge and looks historical. Very good food and staff was nice and always helpful. Great place for couples !!!. Also great for relax and enjoy wellness, pool and great massage.
