On a tour around the world we had booked a beach bungalow at Mataiva Village Pension for three nights in October 2014. Arriving by plane from Papeete with an intermediate stop at the Rangiroa Atoll we and 6 other guests were greeted with leis and transported in Landrovers to the Village. stayed for 3 nights in october, was supposed to be camping but as i happened to be there only guest until the next flight in, they gave me a bungalow for the same price! The boss speaks excellent english, and is a top bloke! day trips around the island or through the lagoon are a measely $10 and jam packed...

We had a family reunion for 4 days at Mataiva Village: 11 people and 5 bungalows, that's about half of the occupancy of the 'pension'. We enjoyed every moment of our stay, from the beauty and simplicity of the environment and facilities to the fabulous daily excursions and fresh fish. Mataiva is a beautiful atoll with only about 200 inhabitants...
