I’ve just returned from spending nine days at Phylomena and Bernard Heaney’s lovely Tranaun House where there’s a lovely homely ambiance. Phylomena is a super cook...breakfast through to dinner. The only problem is ....she doesn’t understand when you say you’re full – the latter word is not in her vocabulary! To add to it while enjoying the scrummy meals the...

Very friendly place to stay. A short 10 minutes walk from the pier. A beautiful island. A unique experience to stay at this B&B. Phylomena was a wonderful hostess. Highly recommended to anyone who fancies an offbeat location.

I was attending turkfest on the island and stayed with a group of friends in Phylomena and Bernard's guest house. It's location was so convenient and the warmth of welcome fantastic. Nothing was a problem, Phylomena was so warm, friendly and helpful and made sure we were well fed and watered throughout our stay, it was a home from home...

We were delighted to come back to Philomena's lovely place during the summer festival on Inis Turk. It's perfectly located between the harbor and the community centre/restaurant/pub. She made us feel really at home. And the shower! Hot spring water, real pleasure after a long day of exploring the island.

We had a perfect two nights at The Tranaun house, in the expert, friendly and very helpful hands of Phylomena and her staff. The room was great, the breakfast was excellent, and the information and chatting about the island of Inishturk could only come from someone like her who's family goes so far back. We had been on Inishturk several...

Lovely, comfy B&B, we felt welcome and at home from the moment we got off the ferry. The island is beautiful and everybody is so friendly. A big thank you to Phylomena for a wonderful stay and for being so helpful and welcoming. We would love to come back again.

We were met by our host and had help taking our bags up to the house which is about 600 meters from the pier. Absolutely wonderful people and the entire island is enchanted. Beautiful scenery, beautiful walks, and friendly people. Phylomena and Bernard are very excellent hosts. The house is lovely and I recommend it to everyone visiting the island.

When traveling western Ireland the islands are most delightful stops off the beaten path and perhaps rugged but very peaceful and the island of Inisturk is no exception You would be well served to visit this beautiful island in Co Mayo a short ferry excursion from Roonagh pier just beyond Louisburgh and with the Omalleys as your provider The most...

Great 2 night stay with beautiful sea views from the bedroom and a very warm welcome from Philomena and Bernard. We had salmon and crab claws the 1st night and 2nd night steak with all the trimmings. Done the inner loop the 1st day and the outer the following. The views are spectacular. Will defiantly be going again
