I went to Seafield with a friend, as a treat for my birthday. Absolute disaster start to finish! First off, our room wasn’t ready at the specified time, we had booked into the spa for a treatment each. First off, you HAVE to buy the €2.50 flip flops to access spa - by the way, you HAVE to book the spa which is almost always booked out (there were a few people upset by this.) there’s also no free lockers if the spa is busy aka Saturday and Sunday. I paid €100 for an abysmal facial (blinding lights, loud music and freezing cold), I wasn’t asked once if this was okay. The facial was basically greasy creams and a waste. The staff overall were nice and generally helpful! However, myself and my friend were woken up at 3am by drunken people next door smashing glasses, vomiting and roaring. We called down to reception, which solved the problem for an hour or two but the same thing happened again an hour later. Imagine I left a comment about how cold it was in the treatment room on a comment card and was called by a spa supervisor who told me that it was “my issue that [I] hadn’t opened my mouth during the treatment”… hardly a way to speak to a customer. I’m disgusted by the phonecall where I was told I was “at fault” not the therapist (which by the way I wasn’t trying to blame). I told said supervisor that I would like to speak to someone above and was told “the duty manager would be onto me in due course”… that was nearly 3 weeks ago. I’m SUPER disappointed as I have emailed a few times to discuss this further. I’ve stayed here with family over the past 20 years and honestly, I’d NEVER stay again.…
We have visited here five times now and fully intend on going back. Whether it was the beach walk, the spa or relaxing in the bar with a drink, the whole experience of Seafield is enjoyable. We opted for the bar food each time and it can’t be faulted, good food and not expensive. The reception staff are excellent and accommodating, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is exceptional! We’ve recommended to friends who have all visited and all agreed it’s a great couples getaway!
We stayed for the night in the hotel 🏨 the promises a lot and specially for the money almost €300 for the night the room was OK just the dinner was very disappointing my starter was very dry my main course was very poor fish was over cooked and my peas had this lime flavouring and u can tell is artificial flavour I couldn't eat it my partner had monkfish the was like leather in this watery broth all and all food very poorly cooked and presented the only Saving creas for this place is the spa lot of work to do in the food department the breakfast was poor everything was over cooked pastries where like crisp meat and been displayed in the seam plate and slice ham so if your vegetarian you couldn't eat it promises a lots delivered very little
The beds are so comfortable! Lovely duvet and cotton bed linen. Private beach Amazing! Food has great selection for meat and vegetarian Had to wait awhile to be served.. Spa overcrowded with groups
Reception messed up our check in and couldn't seem to get their heads around the break down of the rooms and who was going where(we were a group of 9). They insisted on booking us in separately but didn't take the names of any guests or log what rooms they had gone to. At 5.45 I was summoned to reception and told I was in a room that didn't belong to me and the receptionist implied it was my fault. Eventually after I did the reception staffs job and broke down the rooms, the members of our party and who was in what room it was resolved. The following day our spa booking was messed up despite having email confirmation of times. On check out the same rude receptionist added 200 euro onto my rooms bill. They had asked us to pay on arrival and I hadn't charged anything to the room so I queried it. I cannot express how rude this woman was. She said it belonged to the group, and when I said she had insisted we were dealt with on a room by room basis at check in she shrugged her shoulder and said I had to pay it. I asked for a manager who never materialized. We left the hotel having spent close to 5000 euro as a group between rooms, food and drinks with no apology for their mistakes, and a remark that they had a terrible experience hosting us!... appalling. Would not return, would not recommend. (Rooms are okay, bar staff and wait staff were super polite, food was below average)…
Really disappointing experience this weekend - my first time - front desk advised us on arrival that our booking for 5 rooms & 9 people was actually only 2 rooms - staff gave key cards to x2 of our group & they were already occupied rooms. - one room was meant to be a paid upgrade to balcony and double bed on arrival it was 2 singles and no balcony so that also had to be changed - one member of our group was called to reception hours after checking in to “sort out rooms issue, as their room was booked for another party” after we had all paid in full and we’re preparing to get ready for dinner - food in bar is over priced, and really awful it’s not even nicely presented, none of our party finished their lunch. the bar and restaurant staff are lovely and service was good! - There is no residents bar, and when the bar is full at night you have to sit in the lobby. - on arrival to spa on first day, it was extremely overcrowded, it was not relaxing at all, but it is beautifully designed and every amenity in spa is high quality. - over the 3 days of our stay, no treatments were available in the spa - on 2 day, two of our party were told their names were not on list for spa even though they had email confirmation - they had an uncomfortable time at the reception of spa trying to sort - completely ruining the experience of having a relaxing spa - the rooms were clean & comfortable, and there was quite a large spacious bathroom with enough room for 3 ladies to get ready for a night out. - there is no room service available or mini bar in rooms - staff and service at hotel dinner were really great, room is beautiful, nice vibe but the food was awful for us all. Meat dishes tasted like reheated not cooked fresh and all dishes are quite fussy but not executed properly - our meal was included in our booking we would have been quite annoyed if we had to pay extra - breakfast in same room has lots of options but things like fried food etc are terrible, such a disappointment. - on departure our group were in the lobby to check out, one of our group was told 200€ was owed on the room - when asked what for we were told it was room charges no one has any idea why this was added? the front desk staff were really rude to one our group who asked about the charge. we then managed to figure out ourselves that is was a voucher issue from a seperate room (they were told on arrival to give voucher on check out) - one of our party who’s birthday weekend it was (the same girl who got asked to leave her room and come to front desk to sort room issues) asked to speak to a manager about the way in which we were treated, front desk were really unhelpful and one particular member of staff was rude and short tempered when one of our party said the stay over the weekend had been “horrendous for our group” she replied with it was “horrendous for both sides, and that our party were “room hopping” and “going into rooms that weren’t ours” we were all so shocked at how she was spoke to we all just left and decided go finish our trip with lunch in gorey town centre instead - in all my years of travel i’ve never once head front desk staff be so rude to customers such an overall shame - the hotel / stay has so much potential to be fantastic especially with the great rates it can sometimes offer etc but the food, over crowded spa and rude front desk staff meant that we didnt have the best experience and we would prefer to travel further afield for new spa breaks instead of returning to seafield!…
Myself and 7 friends just checked out of the hotel! It was genuinely the worst experience we have ever had! The food is beyond awful and the reception staff all bar one lady were terrible and so so rude! Three rooms were missing during check in, our reserved area was given to a different party. We were also given keys cards on entry and when we went to the room it was another persons room with the clothing and belongs in the room! The spa area was over occupied by at least 20 people and our footwear was stolen. On check out we were asked how our experience was and when we answered it was awful the receptionist responded with “likewise” We hear bad reviews about this hotel but after staying there I cannot express how truly awful it was!
Fabulous hotel and grounds even with the bad weather ! The restaurant was amazing as was the spa . Definitely worth a visit . Staff very helpful and engaging. A lovely mini break for anyone who wants peace and relaxation. Lovely private walk to beach too .
Overall a lovely stay. Friendly staff all around especially in the green room and village restaurants. Room was lovely and clean. Very comfy beds. Unfortunately we had some rowdy neighbours and the soundproofing in the room wasn’t great. The spa is gorgeous and a lovely experience. However, I saw one of the male managers walking through the male’s changing rooms as I was getting changed which made me a little uncomfortable. Not sure why that would be needed.
I just spent a night in Seafield and it was very impressive. there were >40 of us on a business meeting and from arrival to departure it was excellent. Friendly check in, bed room was spotlessly clean and well presented, comfortable with good seating , wifi and TV. Meeting rooms were very good but most impressive were the staff, everyone professional, helpful and friendly. Food was very good. What more can I say , well done and look forward t o another visit.
