No-one welcomed us and I never saw anyone smile. Yo pay for everything but have to do all the work yourself. Sanitary blocks are new and spacious but they appear to be cleaned once a year. Our camp site was littered up into the trees and benches breaking as soon as you sat down. The whole thing looks new and...

We spent a couple of nights in a 6-bed dorm in Refugio Patagonico. It's about 10min walk from the main plaza in the outskirts of the village. The walk will only seem long with a big backpack on your shoulders. Attention was okay during our stay and this hostel has definitely a lot of potential. Unfortunately, it is not really...

This place shows up in every guidebook and I really can't figure out why. Its not the worst, but certainly not a place i would recommend. On the plus side its fairly clean and the beds are OK and there's a nice kitchen and book exchange. However, the location is not ideal, theres no breakfast, the atmosphere is lacking and...

The place is lovely. Very nice garden and common area. The kitchen is spacious and you have labelled baskets to put your stuff in the fridge. However, the rooms were dirty. The ensuite bathroom had a tiny shower (which could be bigger because of the space in the bathroom) and was for the 8 people who were in the room....

We spent just one uncomfortable night at this hostel before we moved out to somewhere else in town. We arrived tired and in need of a good hot shower and were disappointed on both fronts. First the hot water had a problem and although we were happy to wait we didn´t like the staff´s attitude towards sorting it out. The...

The mixed dorms all have an ensuite. Great in theory until you hear the guy from the next bunk in there and realise it is not sound insulated. Welcome to Patagonico! The shower in the ensuite was also tiny, despite being a large bathroom. Despite costing about what all other dorms cost, they dont give you sheets or a towel....

We were seeking a double room with kitchen facilities and to some degree this place hit the mark. It is quite close to supermarkets but a little walk from the centre of town. The communal area is fantastic. In the large downstairs area is lovely woodern furniture and a sizeable kitchen. It is very well organised with labelled baskets for...

This hostel is very dirty. Bedbugs and spider webs in the rooms and bathrooms. We also found a nasty crawling insect (cockroach-like) under one of the beds. One of the morning staff is very rude and dismissed our complaint about ceanliness saying "well I don't know what to tell you- we have no bedbugs". I'm sorry for Marisol and Julio...

Marisol is very friendly and invites you in with a smile, to the gorgeous sitting area with all handmade wooden tables and sofas and a foosball table. There is a massive, ample kitchen where a lot of people can cook at once, fully equipped with more cutlery and dishes than I have seen in any hostel in a long time!...

My boyfriend stayed in this hostel 4 years ago when he first visited El Bolson. We initially only plan to stay for 1 night, but ended up extended to four! Loads table football games! We made empanadas with fellow Argentinian traveler. Julio is a cool and down to earth guy, he made the best steak I ever tasted in my...
