Emma has created a lovely farm stay experience that we really enjoyed in our Tiny Gum House. Her thought into the design, amenities and aesthetics were beautiful and it was a fantastic place to stay for a couple of nights. We loved the natural beauty, fire pit, outdoor bath and feeding the animals and the surrounding serenity.
Over from West Australia for a family holiday in Queensland and chose Blackwattle Farm B&B for a three night stay whilst visiting Australia Zoo and the Glasshouse Mountains. Stayed in the family cabin and loved the farm experience. Our kids (6 and 8) loved feeding the animals every afternoon with Emma and her team (including the farm dogs). Sitting around our own outdoor camp-fire each night was a highlight. Thousands of stars in the clear country skies and toasted marshmallows. Great country experience for the kids. Emma's service and preparation for our visit was great. Fridge full of local produce for a continental breakfast (including local fruits). Nothing to hard to get on request. Would thoroughly recommend this accomodation to families wishing to visit the Glasshouse region. Thanks Emma. Dionne, Campbell, Makenzie & Blair…
Recently spent 5 nights at this great B & B accomodation near Beerwah. We visited the area to attend a sporting carnival that went over 4 days. We found the accomodation fairly central for the venues we had to attend to watch sport. We had also not spent much time previously staying in B & B style accomodation. Our host Emma was very obliging and friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble for her. She was keen to involve guests in the day to day running of the farm if they were interested and had the time. We found when we returned in the late afternoons, we could sit out side and relax much the same as if we were still at home. The weather in August was magnificent after coming from southern NSW where we were having a very dry and cold winter. In summary a great place to stay and would certainly revisit the Farm if ever we have cause to travel to the area again. A great experience!…
We were here for two nights and we had a wonderfull time. The environment, the animals and offcourse Emma, everything was really nice. Our children, 12 and 14 year, didn't want to leave. But... We have to go back to the Netherlands and hopefully we come back to Australia and to the Glass Mountains. Thank you Emma! Peter Liesbeth Roos and Jan
My stay here was definitely not long enough! Stayed in a beautiful self-contained cottage. I was provided with fresh fruit, bread, homemade jams and yoghurt. Everyday I could join the owners for the animal feeding and was able to hold baby chicks, feed a baby goat and hold new born piglets. So quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views. Perfect for families with children, a romantic trip for couples or just a solo trip. I would definitely stay here again if I was in Australia.
We stayed at the rainforest cabin for 2 nights and kids were asking for a longer stay! The room was super, nice amenities and well maintained. Kids loved the afternoon feeds with the ducks, pigs and just roaming around with the dogs on the farm. It was a short drive out to Beerwah to get us well stocked up for the BBQ outside the cabin in the evenings. The reception for wifi wasn’t strong, so the couple of days there was truly a retreat for the entire family to enjoy the outdoors. Kids loved the farm so much that it was the highlight of their entire trip and asking us when we can go back again!
We just came back from 3 nights at Blackwattle farm and highly recommend it! Our family of 4 stayed in the Rainforest cabin which is away from the main house and nice and private. It’s immaculately clean, has everything you need, with quality beds/linen/towels etc. Emma and Mark were lovely and welcoming, we felt very relaxed from the minute we arrived. We visited Beerwah mainly to go to Australia Zoo. At the zoo, we saw tigers, giraffes, rhino’s, crocs etc but at the end of the day the kids said. “can we go back to the farm to feed the animals”!! They also loved the dogs, especially Lilly, and the outdoor fire pit and toasting marshmallows. This is a really great family break – feel like we were away for ages. Thanks Emma and Mark and helpers for a great stay, you’ve created a special place, and put a lot of care into it.…
This quaint little farm stay was perfect. Lots of animals, a perfect view of the Glasshouse Mountains, lovely hosts and food - it was special. Would definitely love to return and stay in touch with Emma and Mark
The guest house was extremely comfortable. The owners were so friendly, the place is a fully functioning farm which makes the place interesting. Close to the zoo and Beerwah town. The views were spectacular. This is not a hotel, this is a guest house. It does it perfectly.
Emma and Mark were lovely hosts. 2 nights at the farm stay felt like 2 weeks. Loved the camp fire at night, the unit was faultlessly clean, liked being able to pick our own veggies from the organic garden for our dinner, and the quietness and seclusion was a welcome change to our city-based life. Would recommend to other families with young children.
