We have been occasional weekend guests in the past. In view of the hiatus of the past year imposed by the pandemic we would have expected guests to be warmly greeted now that they are getting back to normal business. Despite the unfortunate name of the hotel. The cheerless reception we had experienced before has become even more sour. A late evening arrival due to missed train connections did not meet with any comprehension when we asked for assistance to find a late evening meal. It would not take much for them to make a call or two as well as arrange for the luggage to be taken up to the room after a tiring journey. Rooms are OK and good location, but hospitality is not what they excel in.
Good location in the centre of town close to the railway station. Nice room, great bed. Secure offstreet parking. Needs a bit of a makeover and clean up (shower head, air filter in the bathroom). Breakfast buffet is minimalist and coffee served cold. The owner is a little grumpy, his wife is a joy…
We booked a double room including (free) parking. When we arrived 45 minutes later, a (very old, fragile, extremely unfriendly) lady - whom we later identified to be working / owning / running the hotel and who did not even say "hello", when asked claimed that we had no reservation. A young man joined the rather fruitless discussion only to confirm that he had received our reservation. "Finally" - we thought - but then when we requested where our FREE parking was as per the reservation, we were told that parking costs 10 € extra, as per our reservation?! A discussion restarted, now about 10 € where our reservation clearly stated in blue ink on white background (iPhone) that indeed, we had booked with free parking. The gentleman didn't even want to see our confirmation but instead suggested that we better cancel (our non-refundable!) reservation. We left, cancelled our non-refundable reservation on the phone and blocked our credit card by phone as well right after the call to the booking company; We were faster so no money lost ;-)…
Wont break the bank. Breakfast included. Wifi. Charming family run hotel, friendly welcoming, some english. Great location and views. A top place for a weekend in Domodossola. A few minutes walk from staturday markets and night life.
We needed a place good internet connection and appropriate for some interviews and happened to be near Domodossola so we entered the town and found this Hotel; It is ok, clean and friendly. The location is pleasant right next to the center.
A very nice historic hotel at the center of beautiful Domodossola. The rooms are great, very clean and well maintained. Staff are great and Mrs Elisa is most helpful and kind. Breakfast also worth it and fulfilling in the background of nice and relaxing music. Our stay was very satisfactory and the view from our room was stunning as you can see from the picture attached. Definitely be be back :)

This hotel is in an ideal location, 300 yards from the train station and on the edge of the mediaeval town centre. Our room was clean and well appointed and had a bathroom with shower, wash basin, bidet and toilet. The hotel is family run. Italian, French and German are spoken, but only one of the family seems to speak much English. There is very little English spoken in Domodossola. The hotel has a restaurant and an outdoor pool with a sitting area, but no guest lounge as such. Breakfast in the restaurant was a buffet with fresh and dried fruit, cereals, bread, biscuits and croissants. There was a selection of cheeses, ham and salami and hard boiled eggs, but there were no hot food options. You are served with excellent coffee. The juices supplied were rather watery. Lunch and dinner in the restaurant are well cooked and presented, but the choice of meats is restricted to ham and veal. That's true of most of the restaurants in Domodossola although we did manage to find lamb chops and chicken at the bistro off the main square. Our room was at the front of the hotel. There was not a great deal of traffic, but what there was tended to be rather noisy on the cobbled road below. We live in a city and the noise was not a problem although country dwellers might prefer a room at the back. The air conditioning worked well. We had a large screen TV with the usual Italian digital channels including a few English language news channels. The hotel don't seem to have got their act together with bookings. We booked direct, but they didn't seem to be expecting us. Fortunately they weren't particularly busy. I note that other reviewers have had similar problems. It might be better to book through an agency.…
My father got in an accident during our trip to Stresa and he was admitted at Ospendale San Biagio in Domodossola. My tour guide booked me a room at the Hotel Corona which is not far from the hospital. Domodossola is a very small historic town, but not what I would call a major tourist attraction. However, the unexpected 10 days stay there proved to be a nice surprise. The double room is clean, on the small side, with two twin beds pushed together as one. The hotel is run by a family and a small staff which takes personal care of the guest. Being a small town about 2 hours away from Milan, there are not many choices or shops around for some one who do not have a lot of time or knowledge about the town, or speak Italian. I ate there almost exclusively the whole stay, breakfast, lunch and dinner. All in all the meals were very good, and consistent which is excellent to me. The breakfast is average, no hot food, the cook is great for the rest I feel. I ate a lot of different dishes from the menu, fish, steaks, seafood, pasta, and a few other. I had no complaint and was happy to walk back to eat like I am at a dormitory in school. My complements to the chef. I ate very well, and the service is very personal and always on par. Except for the bed, I do not have any complaint at all. The dinner area around the pool is an excellent place to unwind from a stressful stay at the hospital with life or death situations. I found myself a nice refuge to weather the storm in Domodossola, and for that I am greatful to the family and the staff. I did not get to know them, but they have done well by me. If you ever find yourself in Domodossola and at a crossroad, I suggest you check out Hotel Corona. Tell them I sent you. PS. the views are spectacular at sunrise and sunset :)…
This hotel seems vary old in the small city of Domodossola, Italy. The hotel is owned by a family and the owners take personal care of the property and guests. Rooms are nit and clean fitted with all basic amenities. The place is also not vary far from the Train Station and almost on the shopping area of the town.
