I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Had a lovely room, good food and a good breakfast buffet. I had wanted to go there for several years and finally made it. Took a boat cruise on the traunsee. The boat dock was just across the main road. You could walk there or drive, with parking. The boat trip took... More

We stayed here one night while on a bicycle tour and really enjoyed the stay. Comfortable, clean and the staff were enjoyable. A very nice breakfast in the morning. We love staying at the more quaint places while on holiday and this fit the bill perfectly. The location and views were fantastic but then again we were in the Austrian... More

We stayed at the Post as part of our cycling holiday. The hotel is very traditional and we were met with a warm welcome. Our rooms were in a separate building and had the most amazing bi-fold windows which, when open, gave the most incredible view and feel. You really felt as if you were with nature. However, it rained... More

Before you book, you must realise that this is not a big name chain hotel. Its a traditional hotel based in a quiet village. Dont expect Ibis or Travel lodge style of accommodation. On arrival the staff will be dressed in Austrian style clothing and you will be caterer for, regardless of what you ask for and in various languages.... More

Overall this is a nice place to stay, traditional styling and reception staff were friendly. The bedroom was like staying at your grandma's with the old large teak furniture and lace tablecloths and the landing felt a bit like you were intruding with all the personal belongings....not just pictures but coats and shoes etc. I assume this is how its... We came across this hotel in the early evening after having trouble finding a place to stay in the Traunsee area. The main building is an old inn dating from the 1500's that has been kept in excellent condition. The room we got was in a relatively new annex, dating from what looked like the 50s or 60s. It was... Well located pleasant hotel. Good sized family room with small cooking area. Nice bar and good varied choice for breakfast. Free wifi. Nice restaurant attached with choice of local and seasonal products. 200 metres from lake and close to all facilities.

We spent 3 days at this hotel and had a wonderful time. Management and staff were very friendly and helpful. Most spoke good English which helps when our German is minimum. Our room was large, with 2 separate bedrooms, ensuite, kitchen where we could cook, (no fridge), a lounge with sofa and TV, all very clean and tidy. The bar... More

Read the English reviews below, and you will know our opinion of this hotel. I do wonder if this is because most English visitors stayed as part of a package. We noticed that non English visitors appeared to be treated differently- menu etc, On our last day we found out there was an indoor pool in an annexe which certainly... More

Read report before I went on a Treyn Holiday. How true it was, we were made to feel like intruders.we were told that outside seating was for paying guests. The bar was closed to us on two nights. Staff were rude, bathroom was ,no doubt ,very good in the 1960's. Supposed to be a 3star, more like 1star.
