Great adverts for this hotel and we were looking forward to our stay and the spa facilities. The hotel comprises of a number of separate buildings. We arrived went to reception and they sent us to building 6. From the moment I saw the entrance to the building I was concerned and I was disgusted with the room they offered us. Two small single beds and nothing much else and they had never moved the furniture when cleaning. I was very angry and we went straight back to reception. We showed them the photos of the rooms on the advert and said this is what we want and expect to be given. They were not pleasant and said we would have to pay 50% more which we did not accept. After an argument they gave as a room in the main hotel but with no view and at the back on the ground floor. This we accepted reluctantly. The room smelt musty and was not very clean. Be very careful with this hotel.…
The Hongahu Shan Hotel is located on the outskirts of Emeishan town in a quiet and secluded area away fro the hustle and bustle of the city. Surrounded by small forested hills, you can relax and unwind. There a big lake next to the main building with a walkway around it. One can walk at any time of the day and breathe in the fresh air. The chirping and calls of different birds is perhaps the only sounds you can hear. The hotel is surrounded by a forested area and you can enjoy quiet walks along the paths. Also close to the hotel within walking distance are the two temples..Fu Hu and Bao Guo. Fu Hu is about a one and a half kilometre walk up the hill, it is an easy climb along the river. You come across many wild flowers along the way. The hotel staff is very pleasant and courteous. We did face a problem in communication but they made sure we did face any problem during our stay. The rooms are good size, very comfortable and overlooking the forest. The meals were excellent at all times with a huge spread laid out for all meals…
We stayed in the first building after the main entrance and was disappointed. We arrived at our room , dropped off our bags and went straight out. When we came back that evening we noticed that the carpet next to the bed was wet and the wallpaper was black and peeling off. We were moved to another room which smelt badly of damp and was quite gloomy as not all the lights worked. We were moved again and while the third room was not perfect we had had enough of moving rooms. We went downstairs to dinner just after 8pm and were the only two people in the restaurant. When we think back we realised that we had only seen a few people in the hotel ,don’t know where everyone went but they didn’t stop in this building. Luckily we were only there one night.
Located at the foot of Mount Emei, Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Baoguo Temple few minute drive from Lingxiu Hot Spring. On-site hot spring bath and indoor swimming pool is available. Surrounded by forest, A good Chinese cuisine can be enjoyed at the restaurant. Staff is welcoming. And we have a large room with a nice forest view.
Booked the most expensive #7 building. Very expensive, but probably the best in Emeishan. The room is spacious, stylish and comfortable with indoor onsen. However, the metalic plug of the indoor onsen is problematic, and we could not unplug it to let water drain after the bath; and if water level is high, it will overspill to the bathroom, which is really a lousy design. The included breakfast is sumptuous and delicious. However, buffet-dinner was not that good. It's probably better to dine outside. Don't miss the walk along the lake, it's scenic and leisurely.
