Martyn and Denise are simply extraordinary hosts who will do everything to make your stay comfortable. I was on public transport and Martyn offered to pick me up from Caravaca. They prepared a special vegetarian menu for me with a choice of 4 starters, mains and desert each - now that in rural Spain is a proper luxury! The meals... More

We stayed here as a family (2 young boys) for the Running Of The Wine Horses festival and had the most wonderful time. We were hugely well cared for (told exactly where to view the best races etc) and my children had kid-friendly meals cooked for them every day. The boys loved the swimming pool and the enormous grounds to... More

Not exactly on the beaten track but a great find. Only rated 3 in Caravaca which is a real surprise having visited the No.1 place! Great location, very clean, large rooms 90E especially the Olivio and Almendro. All rooms en-suite. Great pool area with a chlorine free pool, very fresh and clean feel. Breakfast continental but hot available and the... More

Once again we stopped here on our way down to the South, and again on the way back to UK. This small hotel is well placed for us, being within easy reach of the Costa del Sol etc. and we can get up to the the border with a day's driving if we have to. Denise and Martyn have made... More

We have returned to this lovely hotel now at least 4 times, usually on our way to and from Alicante airport as we visit other areas of Spain, but this time we spent a week enjoying the hospitality of Denise & Martyn with fine wines and beautiful cuisine in a gorgeous tranquil location and even warm enough to sit out... I has been a while since we visited Sapin and went for the Easter break. Some friends recommended this hotel as a place to get away from it all. They were right. Great location, incredibly quite, great value. The hosts were very helpful and full of good info. The dinner we had was great, should have eaten in the first... More

Cannot praise this place highly enough, excellent large accommodation, well appointed rooms, fantastic old 'farmhouse' in a great setting. Very peaceful and 15 mins from the city. Hosts were attentive, knowledgeable and keen to help (not always usual in my experience). The food was excellent, good breakfast and lunches to order. Dinner was probably some of the best cooking we... More

Had a fabulous three day break at this hotel. Martyn and Denise couldn't do enough to make our break any more enjoyable, and to accomodate all our requests. This included things well beyond what your average package hotel would ever provide, including great local knowledge and fabulous home cooked food.Setting superb and rooms are of a very high standard.Highly recommended and will... What a lovely place. The owners could not have been more helpful. We had a marvellous time despite the weather. It rained all weekend but Martyn and Denise kept us entertained with great food and we even played some board games. We are going to return for a house party for our wedding anniversary.

Lovely converted finca, but very dark inside, especially our "suite".Also bad access along a rough track. Ate in the first evening and despite promising pork fillet ,was served a very small, tough, pork chop and rice and poor vegetables. Ordered English breakfast ,and was told to "help ourselves" to cereals, cold meats etc, and then charged for both continental and English... More

Unfortunately, these guests arrived in the middle of the “gota fria” (two weeks of torrential rain, which has caused temporary damage to the driveway and of course dark clouds). El Nogel suite is a particular favourite with our Spanish guests due to its small windows and intimate, romantic feel; which obviously was not appreciated by these guests (we even changed... More
