If true peace and tranquility is what you desire then this is the haven you seek. It is very tastefully appointed, with every small detail thought of. Lovingly restored down to the last light switch, it's a stylists dream. There are handprinted cushions, fresh flowers around the napkins at each meal and even a swing in the bathroom. At night... Just a fabulous place - a beautiful old Kerelan House - rebuilt with great sensitivity and taste on a great plot surrounded by water. The daily life on the lake - early morning and evening fishing sets the tranquil enveloping rhythm. Service is top notch but nicely informal/casual - Vinod is a master, and very helpful. The food is really... More

Peaceful and romantic escapade on Lake Vembanand. A rare breed that combines the traditional Keralan architecture and modern European comforts. Vismaya (i.e. magic place) is aptly named since you would probably fall under its charm when you sway on the hammock and watch the sun set over the water. The terrific service only added to the experience we had. --A... More

It is just perfect. We loved every moment of our 5 day stay here, I only wish it could have been longer. It is so tranquil, the only noise was from a thunder storm one evening and of course from the house crows!! The house is just fantastically beautiful, rooms and bathrooms are lovely. Situation is perfect at the end... More

Wow!!! We came to stay for a few days last year & stayed for a magical week this year. Everything is perfect - the food, accommodation, the hospitality, the views, sunrises & sunsets, the nature (this year we saw eagles plucking fish out of the lake, an otter, chameleons, fireflies, hummingbirds). Thank you to the wonderful Vinod & Babu and... More

So difficult to explain how wonderful this place is, Vinod is there, never intruding, always attentive, and nothing is too much trouble. He will take time to explain, book a trip, if that's what you want, or leave you alone. The place is so calm, relaxing and welcoming. The pool, food, outlook, surroundings.... I could go on BUT if you... More

From the moment you arrive you realise that this is a very special place. This was our last stop on our Kerala trip, we stayed here for 3 wonderful nights and it was the perfect way to end a fantastic trip in Kerala. There are only two rooms here (so max 4 guests), so this is a very private place. It's... More
