The palace is comfortable, easily accessible and very stylish. Ettore is an excellent host. Amelia is also well worth a visit. Our daughter and 8 month old grand daughter were with us and the public rooms were big enough to be able to push the baby around in her push chair! All together a well worth while experience.

We lived for ten weeks on the uppermost floor with the most magnificent view of the country side. Beautiful, peaceful, serene. Hospitable hosts, wonderful coffee in the morning and civilized conversation at all hours. A treasure not to be forgotten. Ahh, did I mention the pool to cool off from the incredible insufferable summer days?

I travelled to Amelia in July 2015 with 60 friends and family to get married at Palazzo Farrattini. I was apprehensive about arranging my wedding in Italy from Scotland but I couldn't have been more wrong - it was completely stress free!!! Ettore ensured that the reception went smoothly and that everything met his high standards. He made sure that...

Quite incredible rooms in an amazing Palazzo. Ettore is extremely welcoming to his family "home" and provides hospitality and much advice about a lovely hilltop town. The 300 - 500 year old decor is incredibly preserved and yet the facilities are all very comfortable. The gardens are also a lovely haven from the town.

Returning from a recent trip to Europe, I can't help but single out Amelia, Italy, as one place I will definitely return. Amelia is Italy at its finest. A small town in the Terni province, steeped in historical significance with unsurpassed views of the Umbrian countryside. When my sister told me she had booked us at the Palazzo Farrattni, I...

The Palazzo Farrattini combines the beauty and scale of a Renaissance palace with the friendly intimacy of a family B & B. We stayed at the Palazzo on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Amelia, and we found that the Palazzo was as much a destination in itself as a base for visiting Amelia and the surrounding Umbrian...

My husband and I come to Italy every year and rent apartments. We highly recommend a stay at Palazzo Farrattini. The experience is unique. It is the opportunity to stay amidst 500 years of history and Ettore gives you an incredible historical tour of the entire palazzo. The room we had was spotlessly clean, comfortable and so enjoyable to be...

Ettore Farrattini is the perfect host to introduce one to the joys of Umbria in his own palace in the hill town of Amelia. He is not only the proprietor of the 500 year old historical edifice but also the curator of his family's works of art and memorabilia displayed therein. He should charge admission for the tour that he...

These 4 words "spring to mind" in describing Palazzo Farrattini. As soon as you step through the 500 year doors you are immediately transported back in time. There is an abundance of history in this Palazzo that you can spend hours reading, looking at the ancient relics and artwork or just simply, relaxing taking in the peace and tranquility overlooking...

This place is utterly unique and becomes even more special through the care shown to the palazzo and its guests by hosts Scott and Ettore, the latter of whom is a direct descendent of the historic Farratini family. Very few Renaissance palazzi have been kept in one piece so that you can authentically picture what it was like to live...
