The room had separate bedroom and sitting rooms, a sauna and a huge drying cabinet which meant we were covered for everything we needed. It was very well stocked with a Nespresso machine, coffee, tea, shower gel, body lotion etc and had a fridge, kettle, hairdryer, safe, ironing set! 2 TVs and more. We could not of wanted any more.
Importantly the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and there was no external noise, so uninterrupted sleep was enjoyed every night.
The meals were in the main building and were all of a very good quality, hot and tasty. Selection was limited but this made it better for us, as we ate things we normally wouldn’t and thoroughly enjoyed it - Reindeer stew as an example.
We had pizza for lunch a couple of days and it was superb.
When we return to Levi we will book exactly the same again without question.
Only negative for us was the spa, which while very impressive was extremely cold in both the air and water temperature, so we did only one short visit, which was a shame.
Food
Breakfast was the same each morning and offered a large selection including fruit, continental selection, porridge, cakes, biscuits, cooked breakfast (with mini frankfurters), mini pancakes and breads and jam.
Tea offered a great selection with chips each day. It also included veg, potatoes, soup, stew, wide salad selection, lovely desserts, meat (amazing pork and beef), chicken nuggets, fishfingers and lots more. If you don’t like what is on offer I’m not sure why...
There is unlimited tea, coffee, hot chocolate, hot water, water, juice fruit teas etc.
The staff are absolutely amazing and cannot do enough for you. Their English is incredible but did help us with our limited Finnish which was nice.
The rooms could be serviced each day is required.
We went to the Christmas Day Gala Dinner which was amazing and our little girl got to see Father Christmas too. We were sat upstairs for the dinner which worked well although we had to carry our dinner up (not the hotels issue as it was in another location).
The short walk from our room to the main hotel area too no more than 2 minutes and although cold (-4 to -10) a jacket was sufficient to keep the chill off.
The Spa was sensational and we visited all but one of the days.
Overall if I was to pick an area of improvement I would say to have a better sofa bed and have the Spa hotel residence entrance manned while it is open so guest do. It need to walk through the Burger King entrance.
I would absolutely stay here again without question and highly recommend this to others.
We went half board, the buffet breakfast and dinner were really nice. Not great vegetarian options, but good fish and meat dishes. Also noticed they clearly labelled up dishes containing allergens. Bar in the dining room was reasonably priced for Levi, €30 for a bottle of red wine was a lot cheaper than we saw in other places. There is also a pizza restaurant and another restaurant on site if you wanted to pay for something different. And a Burger King!
The spa is great and entry is included if you’re staying in the hotel. Lots of different pools, shame the outside jacuzzis were out of order when we were there though.
Great location - close to the ski rental shops, supermarket and quite a few bars in town. Also only 15-20 min transfer from Kittilä airport.
Would recommend, and would stay there again if we went back to Levi.
I need not have worried. We arrived short transfer from airport and quick check in. Our room was in block 9 very close to reception and dining area. The rooms are very spacious and have a small kitchenette, ironing board and drying cabinet. Large comfortable bed. Rooms cleaned except Sunday, housekeeping staff always polite and efficient. Recycling bins in room which is excellent.
The dining area is ok we would have usually eaten out a few times but due to covid restrictions this was not an option. Thankfully the buffet was open 5pm till 8pm, breakfast 7am till 10am. Breakfast choices were excellent and tasted good.
Evening meal food was good but by second week a bit repetitive in choice although in all fairness I never failed to find something to eat coffee machine was excellent and you could have some berry cordial all included. Staff were always pleasant in the dining area. Just would have been nice to been able to eat out but didn’t ruin the holiday.
There is a spa “water area” with various pools saunas and slides which we visited on three occasions which is free for Ingham’s customers it’s usually a €20 entry charge and was a nice place to chill or exercise, you have to take your own towels.
The hotel is conveniently located for the town for bars and restaurants if they were open lol and very near to zero point for snow activities. There is also a frozen lake nearby which is a nice walk and a good spot to see northern lights.
My only complaint is lack of a lounge area to relax and no cafe or bar area only hotel dining area and pizza and al la carte restaurant which was shut due to covid restrictions.
A very enjoyable stay despite covid restrictions and got to see plenty of this winter wonderland, I even seen the northern lights from the hotel car park.
We had a family room, whihc was ideal. there was a double/twin beds, a kitchenette, TV, bathroom, cloakroom area and a separate bedroom for kids with a bunk bed. In the bathroom there's an large drying cupboard, to dry your ski/thermal clothes everyday.
The buffet restaurant is in the main hotel, the range and quality of food on offer is very good. we were half board, so we ate our breakfast and dinner there most days. The staff were very helpful and always there to get anything that you need.
The pools are amazing, the best in any hotel I've ever stayed in. There's such a large variety from a normal swimming pool for lengths, a young kids/babies pool area, a slide for all ages, a pool with jets above and below the water, a circular pool for fitness circuits, a hot pool to relax in, 2 hot tubs, a few cold pols for the hot/cold treatments and an outside pool that you get to by swimming from indoors to outside then get in the outside jacuzzi, cold but worth doing for the experience.
The hotel is located a 10 minute walk to town where there's a supermarket, shops and plenty of restaurants, the ski centre, Zero Point, is a 10 minute walk.
We skied every day & also went on quite few excursions organised by our tour operator, Inghams. These can be booked locally but we did this all in advance.
It's possible that if I had made the booking through the hotel site I might have been forewarned that the spa facility was not open on the day we were staying. Given that we were on a brief tour in Lapland and only staying overnight here it was particularly frustrating to have driven from semi to arrive in time to enjoy an afternoon in the spa - Nope.
Having arrived we then had to wait 15 minutes while the receptionist dealt with two customers ahead of us. When you have a reservation and just want to check in it's quite frustrating standing in reception while the receptionist explains to people who have not booked a room what their options are, the prices etc etc. No sign of any other staff etc.
The excuse that spa was closed on certain days because of Covid sounded particularly ridiculous - I presume I was charged less because the spa was closed??
Our suite was very nice and no complaints there other than the very few capsules of coffee provided with the machine in the room.
Other guests having a karaoke session in their room didn't improve things....
My son is vegan and the restaurant was excellent - there were often options available in the main buffet but once they realised he was vegan they cooked a dish each evening for him: nuggets, mince dish etc. They also brought out sorbet and soya yoghurts. Oat and soya milk always in the fridge.
We will definitely be returning!
