We booked (and this review is based on) a Junior Suite which was incredible & the pictures simply do not do it credit. The hotel is made up of of many blocks and the location of these rooms meant that we could actually (with skating and pole assistance towards the end) ski back to the side of the building. Took us less than 5 minutes to walk (flat and easy walk) to the zero point lifts. Also literally less than 5 minutes to the town and supermarket and 10 to the lake to view the Northern lights if you’re lucky enough.

The room had separate bedroom and sitting rooms, a sauna and a huge drying cabinet which meant we were covered for everything we needed. It was very well stocked with a Nespresso machine, coffee, tea, shower gel, body lotion etc and had a fridge, kettle, hairdryer, safe, ironing set! 2 TVs and more. We could not of wanted any more.

Importantly the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and there was no external noise, so uninterrupted sleep was enjoyed every night.

The meals were in the main building and were all of a very good quality, hot and tasty. Selection was limited but this made it better for us, as we ate things we normally wouldn’t and thoroughly enjoyed it - Reindeer stew as an example.

We had pizza for lunch a couple of days and it was superb.

When we return to Levi we will book exactly the same again without question.

Only negative for us was the spa, which while very impressive was extremely cold in both the air and water temperature, so we did only one short visit, which was a shame.

We had superior rooms and they were brilliant! We had a living room, sauna and great coffee. The rooms were silent, you could hear no noise from other rooms or from the corridor which was perfect. The location is walking distance to the slopes and centre were all the bars and restaurants are so you can’t get a better location. The spa however is very disappointing, it’s not a spa but a kids pool which needs a serious refurbishment! We went in once and never again because the jacuzzi / hot tubs were cold and the whole spa was unpleasant and noisy. This is a real shame as we were excited about spending a lot of our time in the spa relaxing and was one of the reasons we choose the hotel.

What an incredible holiday and an equally incredible holiday. We were fortunate that our room was ready for our arrival so we were able to occupy it straight away. We transported our luggage on some sledges (not marked as hired or belonging to anyone) to our room which was in the Oanus block of the hotel (265). It was everything we could need, spacious, clean and with a lovely view of the forest. It had a drying cupboard separate toilet, sauna in the bathroom a large bedroom and well equipped lounge area. The lounge area had a large sofa bed (not the best but on a par with a Holiday Inn Express one so adequate). There was free coffee too. If you drink tea take your own. The entrance to the suite was big enough for all of our ski/snowboarding gear and coats.

Food

Breakfast was the same each morning and offered a large selection including fruit, continental selection, porridge, cakes, biscuits, cooked breakfast (with mini frankfurters), mini pancakes and breads and jam.

Tea offered a great selection with chips each day. It also included veg, potatoes, soup, stew, wide salad selection, lovely desserts, meat (amazing pork and beef), chicken nuggets, fishfingers and lots more. If you don’t like what is on offer I’m not sure why...

There is unlimited tea, coffee, hot chocolate, hot water, water, juice fruit teas etc.

The staff are absolutely amazing and cannot do enough for you. Their English is incredible but did help us with our limited Finnish which was nice.

The rooms could be serviced each day is required.

We went to the Christmas Day Gala Dinner which was amazing and our little girl got to see Father Christmas too. We were sat upstairs for the dinner which worked well although we had to carry our dinner up (not the hotels issue as it was in another location).

The short walk from our room to the main hotel area too no more than 2 minutes and although cold (-4 to -10) a jacket was sufficient to keep the chill off.

The Spa was sensational and we visited all but one of the days.

Overall if I was to pick an area of improvement I would say to have a better sofa bed and have the Spa hotel residence entrance manned while it is open so guest do. It need to walk through the Burger King entrance.

I would absolutely stay here again without question and highly recommend this to others.

The hotel is really nice, check in was easy and we had everything we needed in our room. The rooms are spread out over several different buildings, this is quite nice because it’s a bit quieter and we didn’t often hear other guests. But is does mean that you have to put on your thermals etc. to walk over to the main building for breakfast! The room was nice and warm, great seeing as it got to -22C outside!
We went half board, the buffet breakfast and dinner were really nice. Not great vegetarian options, but good fish and meat dishes. Also noticed they clearly labelled up dishes containing allergens. Bar in the dining room was reasonably priced for Levi, €30 for a bottle of red wine was a lot cheaper than we saw in other places. There is also a pizza restaurant and another restaurant on site if you wanted to pay for something different. And a Burger King!
The spa is great and entry is included if you’re staying in the hotel. Lots of different pools, shame the outside jacuzzis were out of order when we were there though.
Great location - close to the ski rental shops, supermarket and quite a few bars in town. Also only 15-20 min transfer from Kittilä airport.
Would recommend, and would stay there again if we went back to Levi.

The hotel was just opened after corona virus break. It was not fully open, because reception and restaurant were still closed. So service was almost zero. We picked up keys from the key box with a code. The room was very spacey, new and stylish. It has a quite large balcony. Bed was very wide and great to sleep. Because there was only handful of other guests and the whole Levi town was almost empty, we could enjoy peace and quiet time. Breakfast was poor for the price and level of the place : a bag of porridge, a dry sandwich in plastic bag, a small youghurt, a snack bar, a banana and a small bottle of juice. The room has Cupsolo coffee maker but there was not enough sugar and creamers for two nights we booked. We called the number that was given for us in the check in. We called several times and send a message before anyone answered. The lady didn't introduce herself and sounded quite rude. However she bought us more sugar, creamers and coffee in few hours.

Few days before travelling Finland changed covid restrictions, basically everything shuts down at 6 pm and was to late to cancel holiday.

I need not have worried. We arrived short transfer from airport and quick check in. Our room was in block 9 very close to reception and dining area. The rooms are very spacious and have a small kitchenette, ironing board and drying cabinet. Large comfortable bed. Rooms cleaned except Sunday, housekeeping staff always polite and efficient. Recycling bins in room which is excellent.

The dining area is ok we would have usually eaten out a few times but due to covid restrictions this was not an option. Thankfully the buffet was open 5pm till 8pm, breakfast 7am till 10am. Breakfast choices were excellent and tasted good.
Evening meal food was good but by second week a bit repetitive in choice although in all fairness I never failed to find something to eat coffee machine was excellent and you could have some berry cordial all included. Staff were always pleasant in the dining area. Just would have been nice to been able to eat out but didn’t ruin the holiday.

There is a spa “water area” with various pools saunas and slides which we visited on three occasions which is free for Ingham’s customers it’s usually a €20 entry charge and was a nice place to chill or exercise, you have to take your own towels.

The hotel is conveniently located for the town for bars and restaurants if they were open lol and very near to zero point for snow activities. There is also a frozen lake nearby which is a nice walk and a good spot to see northern lights.

My only complaint is lack of a lounge area to relax and no cafe or bar area only hotel dining area and pizza and al la carte restaurant which was shut due to covid restrictions.

A very enjoyable stay despite covid restrictions and got to see plenty of this winter wonderland, I even seen the northern lights from the hotel car park.

We visited the spa with friends and asked at reseption if there was a lot of people to avoid covid and the receptionist said it’s practically empty but when we went in it was practically full. They started closing 30 min before announced closing time and very bluntly forced people to go to showers and lockers at the same time, although we asked to stay in pool for just 5 min to avoid crowd but they said no. Felt like they didn’t care about people’s safety. :(

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry you were not happy with the visit to spa water world. During the pandemic time, we have only 50 % of the changing room lockers in use so the maximum amount of clients is always low. We are sorry but there are also some procedures near the closing time and therefore life guards are not able to let clients stay at the pool area even if we want to be flexible. With best regards Tarja Syrjänen / Levi Hotel Spa

The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is spread out in several blocks, all within 5 minute walk of the main hotel where the restaurants and spa/pool are located.

We had a family room, whihc was ideal. there was a double/twin beds, a kitchenette, TV, bathroom, cloakroom area and a separate bedroom for kids with a bunk bed. In the bathroom there's an large drying cupboard, to dry your ski/thermal clothes everyday.

The buffet restaurant is in the main hotel, the range and quality of food on offer is very good. we were half board, so we ate our breakfast and dinner there most days. The staff were very helpful and always there to get anything that you need.

The pools are amazing, the best in any hotel I've ever stayed in. There's such a large variety from a normal swimming pool for lengths, a young kids/babies pool area, a slide for all ages, a pool with jets above and below the water, a circular pool for fitness circuits, a hot pool to relax in, 2 hot tubs, a few cold pols for the hot/cold treatments and an outside pool that you get to by swimming from indoors to outside then get in the outside jacuzzi, cold but worth doing for the experience.

The hotel is located a 10 minute walk to town where there's a supermarket, shops and plenty of restaurants, the ski centre, Zero Point, is a 10 minute walk.

We skied every day & also went on quite few excursions organised by our tour operator, Inghams. These can be booked locally but we did this all in advance.

Like many people these days I did not make my booking for this hotel through their own web site, I made my booking through Hotels.com.

It's possible that if I had made the booking through the hotel site I might have been forewarned that the spa facility was not open on the day we were staying. Given that we were on a brief tour in Lapland and only staying overnight here it was particularly frustrating to have driven from semi to arrive in time to enjoy an afternoon in the spa - Nope.

Having arrived we then had to wait 15 minutes while the receptionist dealt with two customers ahead of us. When you have a reservation and just want to check in it's quite frustrating standing in reception while the receptionist explains to people who have not booked a room what their options are, the prices etc etc. No sign of any other staff etc.

The excuse that spa was closed on certain days because of Covid sounded particularly ridiculous - I presume I was charged less because the spa was closed??

Our suite was very nice and no complaints there other than the very few capsules of coffee provided with the machine in the room.

Other guests having a karaoke session in their room didn't improve things....

My son and I stayed here over half term. Lovely clean room with excellent Wi-fi!
My son is vegan and the restaurant was excellent - there were often options available in the main buffet but once they realised he was vegan they cooked a dish each evening for him: nuggets, mince dish etc. They also brought out sorbet and soya yoghurts. Oat and soya milk always in the fridge.
We will definitely be returning!

Do you have to pay to use the pool if you are staying at the hotel?
Thank you for the message, normally it's extra to room price (15€ adult, 10€ child 4-14yo) but if you have booked via travel agency they have normally chosen the price including entrance to Water World. With best regards Tarja / Levi Hotel Spa
