Fantastic luxury chalet that slept 8 in 4 twin bedrooms on two floors with views of the slope at Zero Point. We never self cater so we were pleasantly surprised. Plenty of room for 8 people, 2 loos, one bathroom and good sized sauna, and drying cabinet for wet ski clothes and boots.

Fully equipped kitchen, close to shops, bars and restaurants. Ski storage in the basement, but no boot racks as it was too cold to leave the boots. Helpful friendly staff & excellent communication during and after the booking process. Booking transfer taxis got the whole party on different flights. Extra towels and maintenance arrived quickly when more towels were requested and a lightbulb change was required.

Would def recommend these chalets for mixed parties of skiers and non skiers

Nice and clean apartment with balcony and own sauna. Nicely decorated room and quite well equipped kitchen. 2+2 suite is nice for a couple. Online booking was easy via their website and we communicated with staff only by email. Keys are ready at the door when arriving. Good qualilty for the price, we were happily surprised. We would recommend this!

Cosy but spacious ground floor apartment opposite Zero Point in Levi. Everything you could need, especially handy for skiers with roomy entrance/cloakroom for suiting up/drying clothes, lockable ski storage outside and self ski servicing room nearby. Temperature control in every room, especially the shower room and sauna. So nice warming your feet up with the underfloor heating after -25 degrees day! Theres also a huge fireplace but never had time to use it. Comfy lounge with view of Zero point slope and large Tv. When we return to Levi, we'll check Alpine Chalets availability first. Great communicators via email.

A bit luxurious apartment which was very nice. We spent here two nights. The location is amazing whether you visit Levi on summer or winter. There is a washingmachine in the basement if needed, there is also a place to store your skies. I think this hotel suits best for couples or small friend groups.

It was altogether an excellent stay, the appartment excedeed my expectations. It was very well located, with excellent views to the main skiing slope and very comfortable and cozy. It had everything we could need to enjoy our 4 days stay at Levi - even plenty of candles to decorate our table while having dinner!
Good internet connections, comfortable beds, good kitchen equipment, convenient dishwasher machine, coffeee machine, etc Nice bathroom and incredible saune.I would certainly use the same appartments if I happen to go again to Levi andwould therefore recommend them to anyone going there, very good value for yuor money.
I would only recommend you to read well the instructions they send you before you arrive there and contact them 3 days before you arrive, it will save you time and efforts, and make your stay even more pleasant.

It was my 2nd trip to Levi and whilst my first trip was excellent (one week January 2015 £800 inc food) using a known holiday company and amazing hotel - however... Nothing can beat my 2nd trip taken in January 2016 for two weeks (£750 inc flights, stop over & transfers - excl food).

I was looking for something small and manageable as a single mature lady (with a disability) and found the ideal apartment in the Levin Alppitalot Alpine Chalets.

How did I book my trip?

I booked my trip myself using booking.com and Skyscanner. The only snag was the lack of direct flights from the UK to Kittila which appear only available to holiday companies. I had to stay at a hotel in Helsinki because the flights did not tally with each other. Save yourself the money by staying at a hotel based at the airport because the taxi fee to the very local hotels are very expensive (free transfers don't always run along side the time of the incoming flights) - or - use one of the sleep pods at the airport itself (Pods are for single use). I wish I had tried the pods out as I heard good things about them. You must also inform the flight booking in reception to make sure your suitcases are book to go to the final destination of Kittila and not for collection at Helsinki airport just to lug it all back to the airport again.

The transfer from Kittila to Levi is roughly 15 minutes however, the airport bus did not leave for well over an hour because it waited for the the next flight to arrive. An unpleasant wait for families who had young children. The bus stops first at the hotel Levitunturi and the apartments are a few minutes walk. The hotel are very nice (I stayed there in 2015) and will order a taxi if you want one. I took a taxi which cost me over 15 Euros and it was literally 2 minutes further down on the same road, opposite.

*Note.... My best buy of the trip was the sledge - toboggan - sleigh 11 euros. The sleighs that are scattered around are normally owned by someone but the hotels do have their own. If in doubt, ask.

You can buy a sledge at the supermarket over the road from Levitunturi hotel. Well worth the 11 Euros and I got plenty of use out of it. I bought one and used it to transfer my cases on my return journey and used it every day I was there. It was a doddle and I have mobility problems. The sledge drove itself. Almost weightless even with my cases.

Apartment and staff at Levin Alppitalot Alpine chalets.

Staff communication at the Levin Chalets. Excellent. 100% without fault. I was very impressed with the ladies and the handyman. Their office is a few blocks down on the same side and very friendly with good spoken English.

I was given a front apartment overlooking the ski slope in block C (photos included).

There is a lift to all floors.

Based on the apartment I stayed in.

It is a small one bedroom apartment with two single beds and a small table and chairs for dinning.

It has a well equipped kitchen with a top quality electric stove top and microwave. There is also a dishwasher (dishwasher tablets and cleaning tools, tea towels were there but not sure if they were left there or included by the apartment). It was well equipped with utensils including a kettle. Pots and pans were well catered for as was the cutlery and glasses. I did not use the dishwasher as I prefer the traditional method. It was still hot and loaded from the cleaner when I arrived. The electric stove top heats up extremely fast as expected. The only utensil it lacks - is for lifting fried eggs out of the frying pan.

The bathroom area.

It has a very spacious shower (floor mop similar to a windscreen wiper incl) and sauna room which is perfect after a few hours in the cold and ideal for singles and couples. It heats up reasonably fast. The sauna is amazing. It took me a while to work out how to use it and could do with instructions added to the otherwise, well presented guest manual on the apartment table. There are sauna mats provided. They look like dog training pads and they are provided for hygienic reasons. You need to sit on them in the sauna. It is common practice in Finland. Towels are included but they need to offer a change of towels for longer staying guests.

Bed linen is included but again, there needs to be the offer of a clean set of bed linen for longer staying guests. The beds are very comfortable and the duvets were lush.

There is free wireless internet in the apartment and a TV. The TV channels are very limited.

There is a balcony with the apartment I stayed in and where I spend most evenings after a night Aurora hunting. I was even lucky to see the Aurora over the ski slopes.

If you love skiing, the ski centre is directly opposite and fantastic to watch the skiing, snowboarders and snow tractors work their magic after closing hours. Zero point has lifts almost on your doorstep.

If like me, your into the Aurora - In mid January 2015, I had 4/7 nights of the Aurora and mid-late 2016, 10/14 nights filled with the dancing Aurora. There was a huge solar storm that was so big, it was hard to point my cameras because it was everywhere I looked.

To see the Aurora you need to upload an Aurora alert app on your mobile and be prepared to get dressed with a 30 minute warning.

It was minus 40 when I was there so how you dress is very important. Do not wear cotton underwear or clothes. You do not need to overload yourself with clothes to stay warm but you do need the right clothes and footwear and gloves. I lasted several hours in the extreme cold when others were running back to the hotels freezing very early on.

If you head back to the hotel Levitunturi, on the road opposite, there is a hotel (K5) and the Levi tourist centre. To the left of the hotel is a slip road that takes you down to the most amazing frozen lake (winter) and stream. The stream has a beautiful pair or white throated dippers if you are into bird watching. At the back of the K5 hotel, they have reindeer and they allow you to use their services when you need to escape the extreme cold whilst watching the Aurora. This was the best place to see the Aurora. The lifts were out of action because it was too cold but if they are open, it is well worth going up there to see the Aurora dance over the trees and lake.

Take a head torch with you if you can because it is an asset if your taking photos or finding your way around the lake under the evening sky.

The shops are situated very close to the apartments yet well hidden. Two minutes walk and the shopping area starts. There is a 'Subways' for those who fancy a take-away of something familiar. The restaurants are very pricey but there is one restaurant just in front of the apartments that serve an excellent home made soup that was very filling.

The Aurora. If you plan to take photo's and do not want to be sorely disappointed, please go through your camera functions before your journey or if you plan to buy one, check out the many websites that have great tips. I helped quite a few people with their cameras.

Weddings...... People do go to get married in Lapland and I have seen two very beautiful brides on what is a unique way to get married. I took photos of one bride and she looked like Snow White. Beautiful.

If you have any questions, feel free to inbox me. I spent on average, 4 hours at -35 to -40 at a time (taking photos of the Aurora) and that is where my sleigh (11 euros) came in handy and inexpensive but very effective clothing. It carried all my camera gear without any physical effort from me, other than to guide it. It also served me well with my shopping. 5 heavy bags and room for more, no problem. Almost weightless to steer back to the apartment.

Salmon and chicken is cheaper than the UK and much better quality in terms of taste and weight. The supermarket is not permitted to serve alcoholic drinks other than those under a small percentage maybe 4%. There is a specially designated shop further up from the supermarket that sells wines, spirits etc. You can buy cigarettes and tobacco in the supermarket but like ours, it is behind an enclosed counter so you need to ask for them. Every shop and staff person I cane across, spoke good English. If in doubt, ask.

Ps... if you do like birds, throwing a few bread crumbs on the balcony will certainly invite a variety of different birds. I loved it. I think I over fed them because I woke up to so many birds sat looking at me through the window. It was brilliant and kept my cameras busy.

I rate this apartment as 10/10 based on customer service, apartment, equipment and its location. Ideal location that has everything within a few minutes walks ranging from a ski slope, restaurants, supermarket, shops and the beautiful lake area.

Dear Tess And warm greetings from Lapland. Thank you so much for your amazing review about Levi and our Chalet! Your story really took me back in time to the mid-winter, auroras and all the snow. I also got some really important details from you, that we must pay attention to - more that 1 week stay-overs should be provided with fresh set of sheets and towels - we will make it work from now on. I hope to see you again in Levi and don't forget to come back also in RUSKA -season :) Wish you all the best, Ms. Sanni Pursiainen

We (4 adults + 2 kids) enjoyed our one week winter holiday in a two floor luxury apartment of Levin Alppitalot.

Our apartment was located in the C-building and had 4 bedrooms, two toilets, a big bathroom (two showers), a sauna, a fully equipped kitchen (incl. a dry closed) and dinner room (incl. tv), a television relax room, two balconies, a good Wi-Fi connection and most important a fantastic view at the mountain!

This modern and fresh looking apartment is fully equipped and very clean! Great place to enjoy your holiday.

The apartment was close to everything like restaurants, shops, supermarket, the mountain / ski lift, the kids ski/sledge place (free daily activities), the Levin Alppitalot office (in case you need them), the Levi information centre and the airport.

The normal check-in time was 16:00 but the Levin Alppitalot team made it possible for us to already check-in at 12:30. This is really a great service, we were informed by sms as we were already enjoying the snow!

The building has an elevator and next to a ski storage room also a room (incl. shower and toilet) for guest to change clothes and storage their luggage in case of early arrival or late departure.

The Levin Alppitalot Team has great apartments and delivers fantastic service and is fully dedicated to give you a royal holiday feeling!

Thanks Team Levin Alppitalot hopefully see you soon!
