We had a very lovely stay at this place on our Cabot Trail trek. Alfred and Kathleen were so warm and welcoming. We got there in the evening and they offered their dining room table for us to have our supper if we needed. They had great insights on things to do on the island. Their house was immaculate and they ask guests to take their shoes off at the door. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The pillows were equally comfy and the bathroom was pristine. There was a living room we could use with satellite TV and books to read. The Wifi was great! (We watched an AmazonPrime movie using it). The home-cooked breakfast was hearty, warm, and delicious. We had bacon and eggs, toast, and fruit. There is also a cereal bar and cookie jar. The coffee was perfect for someone who really appreciates coffee like I do. It was percolated, which I had never heard of before, but was delicious!! We definitelly recommend staying here!…
My boyfriend and I stayed here very last minute after an AirBnB in the area did not work out the way we had planned. I called up Alfred and he told us to come right over, they had a vacancy. We were welcomed into their home and shown to the immaculately clean room that would be ours for the night. It had a large, long, very comfortable bed, a TV, and a spacious sparkling clean bathroom with a shower stall. After a stressful hour trying to sort out accommodations for the evening, it was lovely to be welcomed to this B&B. Alfred could tell I had been stressed and even offered to make us dinner. We showered and relaxed for the evening and woke up to a wonderful breakfast complete with homemade strawberry jam. Alfred and his lovely wife were life savers and run a real gem of a place. I would recommend it to anyone traveling around the Cabot Trail. It is about half way around the trail and makes for a lovely place to relax after a day of sight seeing and driving.…
We had another bnb booked, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we were left without a place to stay and it was getting late.. We called Alfred and asked if he had any vacancies, and we were lucky that he did. I say lucky because this place is immaculate!!! The room was stunning!!! Alfred was super approachable and accommodating, and the breakfast the next morning was also great!!! I Wanna move in lol.
We stayed at this B and B for five nights and it was one of the best B and B's we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in lots!) It was spotlessly clean and Alfred and Kathleen were such great hosts who went above and beyond to ensure we had a excellent stay. Breakfasts were really good and Kathleen made a ginger cake that was the best thing my partner had ever tasted! The location of this B and B is just perfect and is close to everything you need in Cape North. Kathleen also went above and beyond helping me to research my Cape Breton family history. I highly recommend this B and B and would love to go back.
Just stayed one night and it was a pleasant one. The home was very clean. Our room had an ensuite bathroom. Had a nice breakfast to get our day started. Sat in the living room and got to know Alfred and Kathleen one evening which was very nice. Only thing that was a negative for me was the soft bed. That's just a personal thing, I prefer a firmer mattress, other wise it was a nice place, and I would recommend other travelers to stop here.
