We arrived on a stormy August afternoon, we could see the beach but nothing else through the driving rain and winds. Our cabin was perfectly accommodated with new appliances, local amenities, a super comfy bed and huge windows (& glass doors) facing the ocean. By morning, the storm has passed and we were greeted by a beautiful sunrise and a view of the mountains. We were speechless! The place is perfect! Staff are lovely! We will definitely be back and will book the deluxe one bedroom cabin again! Thank you The Markland for a perfect birthday celebration!
Stayed August 7 in a cabin, location was great, cabin was a little dated. They had bikers at the resort which were partying all night, no sleep, then breakfast had a hair in it. No one asked how our stay was when checking out, pretty disappointing. Under normal circumstances it is probably a great spot, but overall, really disappointed. I expected a lot more, especially for the price.
We stayed here for one evening on our staycation. Gorgeous view from cabins and beautiful private beach. Service was excellent which included great breakfast choices. Cabins are rustic and clean. Include kitchen with microwave, fridge, freezer etc. Cabins do not have air conditioning or WiFi. WiFi is available at the main building. Quite clean although with a rustic cabin there is some mold in the bathroom. Nice touch with the local groovy goat soap. Could use some more outdoor chairs. Also has an outdoor pool which is rare for this area.
This 3 night stay marked our 4th visit to the Markland and under the current circumstances was amazing. All precautions were taken while still delivering second to none hospitality. The location itself forces you to relax and the views are stellar from everywhere. The dining room wasn't open but the Markland and staff didn't miss a beat. There is a great menu for takeout and breakfast was delivered daily on demand. The breakfast alone is worth the visit - Chef knocked it out of the park daily :) We already can't wait to come back!
We happened to come here by chance and stayed for 3 nights. What an absolutely wonderful spot. We stayed in cabin#11. It is basic, but clean and comfy and has everything needed for a wonderful stay. Due to covid-19 there was no dining in the restaurant so breakfast was delivered to our cottage and supper was takeout. Both were amazing and it was easy to tell that everything was homemade. The staff are very attentive to making sure their guests have all thwto they need. The view and the beach is amazing and the location is not to be beat. We like quiet places that are sort of off the beaten path. I'd give 6 starsnif I could.
