We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin with a spectacular view of the ocean. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were there technically just before the season started but we were welcomed and my mother, myself and my daughter had a wonderful cape Breton visit.

We were most excited to stay here out of all of our stays on our 4 day trip in Cape Breton, the location seemed incredible. After a very busy day touring the Park, we arrived just at dusk so we didn't really get a chance to take in the full beauty of our surroundings. We had booked a 'log room'...

It is a special place in an incredible locale. We did not eat in the restaurant. We were there four days and used it as a home base to explore the area. Cabins are clean and well appointed. The wi-fi starts to go slow at night when everyone is on. Be aware that the locale is remote and there are...

We spent 4 nights at The Markland and wish we had a few more. There isn't a lot happening in the Dingwall area, and that was just fine by us. The property is located on a sizeable piece of land with its own private beach. The cabins are built in a 1 row semi-circle. You don't have anyone in front...

We've stayed here three times over the past fifteen years and it's one of our favorite places on earth. The Markland affords visitors panoramic vistas of the Cape Breton coastline featuring rugged mountains that plunge precipitously into the Atlantic Ocean. I've seen a golden eagle, a bald eagle, countless seagulls and marine birds, as well as a seal right in...

The atmosphere here is cozy and tranquil. The cabins, which are spacious and modern (we chose a two bedroom log cabin with kitchenette) offer all the conveniences of a nice motel room, but with the rustic atmosphere of an upscale campground. The cabins are well spaced apart, over several acres. It is a short walk to the beautiful beach area...

Situated at the half way point on the Cabot Trail, the Markland is a great place to stay whether it is for summer beach fun or autumn colours. The cabins are rustic with top quality beds and linens! The view is spectacular! Breakfast was included and we enjoyed a delicious dinner as well! The service was top notch! Great for...

Quiet, comfortable stay, Great food, outstanding staff. Excellent views of the ocean and sandy beaches. A peaceful environment yet casual enough allowing guests to experience a relaxing and meaningful rest. There are many walks to enjoy as well as places to sit and reflect or read one of your favorite authors.

The cabins are older and two bedroom cabin has three rooms, all of which must be accessed from the front porch. The views from the porch are simply beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The on premise restaurant served food that probably better than it had to be considering any other option was miles away.

We stayed at a B&B in Cape North and were warned by the proprietor to eat dinner before we arrived as there was only one restaurant available, the restaurant at the Markland cottages. Because we had been driving a lot this day we took our chances at the Markland, this was not a mistake. The mussels were fresh and cooked...
