Travellers' Choice
Overlooking Anse Cochon Bay Ti Kaye Resort & Spa is located on the serene West Coast and is simply known as Ti Kaye, (which means small house in the native creole patois language of Saint Lucia). With only 33 rooms, 2 bars & restaurants, the Kai Koko Spa and a 600+ bin 'Wine Kave' there is no better place for romantic relaxation - combined with some of the best snorkeling and diving to be found anywhere on Saint Lucia right off the beach.

My sister (UK based) and I (US based) decided to escape for the holidays after the crazy year of 2020. In our research, we stumbled upon the gem of Ti Kaye Resort & Spa. I wanted a beach; my sister wanted to scuba dive. Everything else was a bonus but that's the best part. This resort is a hidden treasure in the center of St Lucia on the calm side of the Caribbean Sea. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the overly accommodating and incredibly pleasant staff. By day 3, we were on a first name basis with nearly all staff and guests - it felt like a family. After such a long and challenging year in 2020, it was so refreshing to have human interaction. But let me be very clear, not for one minute did we feel unsafe in any way. COVID protocols (mask, sanitizers, distance, etc) are managed very well, and to be honest, everything is open air here. The only closed space I was in with another person (other than my sister), was our taxi driver(s) and nearly every time we did an excursion with a driver, we kept the windows open. The property has everything you could need and more. From the charming beachfront cottages that all have a unique story and included our own plunge pool, and outdoor shower with insane views, and a porch with the most relaxing hammock. When small rain showers would come and meet the sound of the ocean waves, that hammock could put the best therapist out of a job ;) The beach is idyllic. A secluded bay with some of the absolute best diving and snorkeling on the island. Tourists come from other resorts to this beach because it is the best beach on the island, hands down! My sister enjoyed 10+ dives and had a great experience with the diving school that is right on property. The resort offers all the beach activities right here: snorkeling, paddle boards, kayaking, etc. Most are free and the staff is always available to help.... or coach your fears if that's what you need! The food and drinks are amazing. There are two restaurants to enjoy gourmet delicacies as well as local specialties, plus a brick pizza oven on the beach! The meals are fresh and the ingredients local. If you're lucky enough (or curious enough to inquire), one of the staff (ask for Yanez) will take you on a personal tour of the on-site gardens. And if you really get lucky, she will help you pick your own sweet potato to bring to the restaurant for your fries at lunch!! And the wine... oh my... there's enough wine for anyone's preference. The wine cellar is also beautiful! Don't even think twice about it, go to the spa!!! It's a must for relaxing and you find some of the most breathtaking views on the property! This place is just heavenly. It's now my 46th day here and I never want to leave! The really do go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. I have now moved onto a monthly 'workcation" here and have no regrets! The Internet connection is so good, there is no reason to leave!! I could go on and on but I'll stop here. Come here to be pampered, yes, but there is so much more to experience of this natural and beautiful resort and island. After all, it is island life. Relax and soak it in!! PS - I read some of the recent (post COVID) reviews and all I can think is "where is your humanity?!" We are in the midst of a 1+ year global pandemic. The tourism industry took a major hit. People have dealt with a lot. We could all be more patient and respectful of each other. Talk to the team and you will hear first-hand the struggles, perceptions aren't always fair. As guests, we pay for the new experience and escape from reality... you will, no doubt, find that at Ti Kaye! Enjoy paradise!!!

Below is the email I sent to Tikaye after recently staying there. I did not include minor issues in my email because it wasn't worth brining up but i will include it here. the bed was rock hard. I had to ask several times to get basic stuff like more TP or shampoo. Everyday we filled out the room service sheet and everyday they forgot multiple items. The "all inclusive" for the room service is basically beer and juice. No food, no booze. Service was very very slow. Seriously understaffed. No bar service by the pool. Staff was very nice. Basically, they opened before they were ready. Did incredibly loud maintenance right out side our door and by the every day we were there, and their staff put our health at risk by not wearing mask properly, and the people preparing our food barely wore masks. The hotels response was essentially "yeah, we had a lot of problems during your stay but we've fixed them now." Below is my email to them. Good evening, I wanted to write to you in order to alert you to some serious issues with my recent stay at Tikaye Resort and give you the opportunity to remedy them. The reservation number is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. We arrived on a Monday and in our room, there was a note saying that groundskeeping work would be done on Mondays. This makes sense, as obviously work has to be done from time to time. However, your resort scheduled groundskeeping work EVERY single day we were there. This was very very loud and even woke us up 3 separate mornings. The work was being done directly in front of our room and even right up to our windows. It was also done by the pool, so the only place to avoid the loud noises was by the beach. We would sit outside on our balcony and try to enjoy the view but couldn't because the noise was so loud and unpleasant. On top of that, when I looked at the guys doing the work, they were basically doing nothing except turning the equipment on and off. For 20 minutes 1 guy was literally leaf blowing the same 5 leaves right in front of our room. The work was not only loud and intrusive but seemed wildly unnecessary. This work took place from about 8:30am-4pm every single day except Sunday. To say it made our stay unpleasant would be an understatement. We couldn't spend time in our room, on our porch, or by the pool. When we sat by the pool, even one of your staff members commented on the noise and apologized for how loud it was. The fact that you would hire people to do this work all week is quite surprising and discouraging. Even after I said something, the work continued for the duration of our trip. The only day where we had any peace and quiet during the daytime was our final day (Sunday). I don't like to complain but this blatant disregard for your guests had a serious negative effect on our stay. We came to relax and for a good portion of the resort and basically our entire stay, you took that option away from us. The second major issue was your covid precautions. Your staff was completely inconsistent with regard to masks. Some wore masks, some wore them around their chins, some would take them off to take our orders and talk to us. What is most distressing, was when looking into the kitchens at both restaurants, the people preparing our food consistently had their masks around their chins. I was absolutely dumbfounded as I watched someone make my lunch without a mask on at all. To say this is beyond unsafe is an understatement. Anyone in the kitchen should, at all times, have their nose and mouth covered. I don't think i saw a single kitchen staff with their nose covered and most of them didn't have their mouths covered either. We felt unsafe and we ordered to our room for our last 3 nights to avoid interaction with the staff. This is the sort of issue that can get a resort removed from the covid approved list. We also took the Piton Sunset Cruise and the food being passed around was finger food. Everyone on the boat was reaching onto the same plate and touching the food. Again, just completely unsafe during covid. (we did not partake in the food) A third but minor issue was ordering food to our room. We did so 3 times and each time the food took almost an hour to arrive. The hot dishes arrived cold and the desserts had completely melted each night. Clearly the food had been made a long time before it was delivered. I await your response as to how you would like to remedy this. Their response: We thank you for writing us to inform of the issues that you faced during your stay. During your stay we did recognize the level of noise around the property and we dealt with it by switching up the times and zones for grounds maintenance. Since your departure, we have been able to set up a new schedule for ground-keeping which has been working in everyone’s favor. As it relates to the wearing of PPE, management has recognized the inconsistencies and have since dealt with the matter. We have had a series of vigorous training exercises with our teams who have been following all protocols consistently. The same goes for our sunset cruise which is ongoing, but with different food handling rules. Our room service policies have also been revised to provide guests with a better experience. Because of the inconveniences caused, we are happy to offer you a $150 credit voucher. This voucher can be used for a future stay or can be gifted. Again, thank you for bring all of these issues encountered to our attention but rest assured that they have been addressed. My response: Good afternoon and thank you for your response. I must say that your response is absolutely unsatisfactory and entirely unacceptable. It is very clear based on the issues I experienced during my stay, that Tikaye re-opened long before it was prepared to do so, and the result was a loud, not relaxing and unsafe environment for your paying guests. I'm glad to hear that you addressed the serious issues after my trip, but that does not change the fact that they existed during my trip and had a massively negative impact on my time there. These should not have been issues that needed to be addressed. TiKaye should not have opened before figuring out how to avoid such serious issues. We were unable to relax the way we wanted and paid for, and your lack of preparedness put our health at risk. I think it's fair to say that offering $150 credit if we come back, for a 3 thousand dollar trip that was basically ruined by your resort's lack of preparedness, is beyond insufficient and highly insulting. You openly admit that you had to have training AFTER our stay because your staff was not properly trained in how to keep your customers safe, and that AFTER our stay you changed the work schedule that regularly woke us up and created an unpleasant and loud environment around most of the resort, from 8am-4pm Monday-Saturday. I expect TiKaye to provide a significant refund for our trip, and I mean SIGNIFICANT. Obviously, I know that you personally are not responsible for the choices that the hotel made while we were there, but it doesn't change the fact that the hotel must take responsibility for its total lack of planning and proper health training. The hotel basically charged us 3 thousands dollars to spend a week listening to your maintenance staff loudly prepare the hotel for the next set of guests and to put our health at risk during a pandemic. I'm sorry but this is completely unacceptable and a $150 credit does not begin to cover the apology needed. Thank you, Their response: NO RESPONSE

What was not included in the gentleman's very lengthy trip report was the ultimatum we were served; pay up my demands or suffer my wrath of a bad review. Sir, we will never respond to this type of approach especially since much of this report is fraught with exaggeration. FYI: our recent surprise government protocol inspection was passed with flying colors.

My husband and I came to St. lucia for our 10 year wedding anniversary. There was lots of concern around getting there, due to Covid and travel-but from start to finish staying at Ti Kaye, it was absolutely amazing! The staff from an easy check in, walking past the gardener (Leon) the bar tender Zach, the restaurant waiter Rohan and the SOM Mervin, and the head chef Mario and his team for taking incredible care of my vegan diet, and to all the other incredible men and women working there-it was absolute perfection! Highly recommend spending hours snorkeling in the bay below the hotel, and taking advantage of the complimentary kayaks to go and explore the island from the sea, also a must to book a private boat trip-recommended by the front desk for a special occasion. You can def. tell when a team of people is working under happy owners/managers-its reflects on their natural ease and joy they bring to every conversion. After many laughs and beautiful memories made at Ti Kaye I would highly recommend this hotel not only for it's beautiful location and accommodation but for the amazing people that work there-thank you!

We loved this resort!!!! We wanted a more laid back location, but with still having the amenities and this place was perfect! Lets first talk about how lovely our reception into the hotel was! It was a long day of travel, and with all the extra wonderful Covid protocols in place it took a bit longer to get there then I would typically have expected... But the moment our lovely driver pulled up to the front lobby, it was perfection! We were greeted with such professionalism and friendliness. My Husband and I were so impressed with the Covid protocols and safety measures in place. and our welcome drinks were exactly how a vacation needs to start! The views from this hotel are insane! Whether in our room, spa, or the restaurant, everyplace in this hotel has the most amazing unobstructed view of Anse Cochon bay! The restaurants were clean, staff amazing, and food absolutely superb! Management, run by our wonderful man FF( we never did pronounce his real name correctly, sorry!) was phenomenal. We would love to share a special acknowledgment of several of the restaurant and bar staff, they were wonderful! (Shania, Shavon, Sean, Laurencia, Carshena, and our trusted sommelier Mervin). Try and do the wine tasting, it was informative, delicious, and a great deal of fun! The Spa was heavenly! Highly recommend the hot stone massage! The Island Divers provided wonderful Scuba opportunities, including two shore dives, a wreck dive, and a wall dive! Also, we used the kayaks, the paddle boards, and snorkels. The diving/snorkeling reefs right around this resort are breathtaking! you don't have to go far to see some of the most amazing sea-life! Our room was comfortable, I loved the simple rustic charm, breathtaking view, loved my hammock, plunge pool, and my outdoor shower! We had a wonderful comfortable 7 nights there! Honestly, hands down, our favorite vacation spot! We will be back!

I had a fabulous stay at Ti Kaye. I was seeking a place to travel to during COVID, in an area with low transmission rates and at a hotel with safety protocols. Ti Kaye delivered in every way, and I couldn’t have been happier. A friend already booked it for a future stay based on my recommendation. The setting was idyllic, and I loved having my own hammock on my porch with sea views. The beach is excellent - people come to scuba and snorkel right in front of Ti Kaye from all over the island. Food was excellent - all meals were outside but with roof cover (it does rain for brief stints regularly in the fall). I did a scuba diving certification, and also took full advantage of the free kayaking and paddleboarding. I only wish I could have moved in for the winter!!
