We stayed in the glass cottage, early 2020. It is a bit quirky, but only in a nice way. Very comfortable, well kept, and clean, and plenty of privacy and peace and quiet. Hosts are polite and helpful. The view to the back of the property into the mountains of the mainland is nice to have too. Easy access both to Las Lajas beach and to the transport options on the Panamericana highway for any other destination in Panama.
Wonderful cozy chalet room. The flooring upstairs consists of 10 inch plank boards. Great breakfast of eggs spiced with herbs, plenty of fresh fruit, and homemade peanut butter (delightful) and jam on the toast. Plenty of light in the bedroom. Even has reading lights by the bed. Down side is the stairs.... 2 flights of stairs each about 2meters high. Second flight of stairs is about 65 degrees.. Steep. The hosts are very helpful to get luggage to your room. The other possible issue with the stairs is the bathroom is down stairs. If a person has to make trips to the bathroom at night this could be an issue. An option for dinner is a quite nice restaurant back toward the highway. It is next to the taller (technico?) building. We had the spicy fried chicken which included fries and a salad. Tasty.…
This is THE BEST accommodation we have encountered so far while traveling through Panama. Situated in the beginning of Las Lajas it offers spectacular views over the valley and mountains. The hosts Erika & Fabio are extremely friendly and helpful and they also serve delicious breakfast with fresh fruit from their garden. The house and bungalow are very modern and designed with lots of taste. The bed is also very comfortable, so you'll get a good sleep. We would totally recommend staying here, you'll love it!
Definitely splurge and get the glass cottage if possible. We spent one night in a room in the main house (pleasant but small) and one in the cottage, which was spacious, comfortable, and unique. We loved the Las Lajas area but consider that the town is a few miles from the beach. It's a very pleasant drive if you have your own car.
We stopped at Las Lajas on a bus trip from El Valle to Boquete. It is in a great location as we were able to walk the 2km from the bus stop on the highway. Our visit was too short but we enjoyed our stay with Erika and Fabio in their bottle casita. They shuttled us to the beach for a late afternoon walk down the beach and a great beachside supper at Sunset beach hut. Erika was very hospitable and made us a delicious breakfast in the morning including fresh pineapple juice and papaya.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely BnB. The owners are lovely, openminded and caring people and we loved our chats with them. Make sure you book a dinner at their place as the pasta is real italian and cooked with a lot of creativity :-) We already miss their lovely dogs (including the cute little puppy) and the beautiful scenery around the bottle house. The bottle house itself was very cosy and unique.
It was so nice staying in a lovely cottage that the owner's had worked so hard to create. Definitely a work of art. It was so nice waking up with the wonderful colors of the glass bottles shining through. Wonderful breakfast with homemade peanut butter and jams, homemade bread coffee and they even made us fresh squeezed juices.
Highly recommended! So chill and beautiful to sleep in this glass-bottle cabin! Waking up with the soft-colored light of the sun filtered through the thousands of bottles artistically arranged in inspired patterns. This couple obviously care about life and nature and are great hosts. A little remote, away from the beach but easy access. The owner drove us daily to the beach and we enjoyed hitch-hicking & walking back.
As the title says, the service was excellent, the Italian couple that run the place, along with their 2 dogs were super friendly and helpful. Their breakfast is all home made and very tasty! The only problem is that the place is a 10 minute drive from the beach. The drive however, is a very pleasant one. I super recommend this place :)
We originally booked for three nights, but stayed four. We LoVed the bottle cabin and the hospitality Erika and Fabio extended us. The room was very comfortable and well styled. The views from the backyard were spectacular and a pleasant way to start and end the day. It's a nice and scenic stroll to the cute town of Las Lajas (about a mile) with sidewalks and restaurants along the way. We found the community to be a vibrant and active melting pot of locals and expats. Their dogs were playful and well behaved. We were so impressed to find out Erika and Fabio had built the cabin themselves from repurposed materials found locally. It's a spot we will look forward to revisiting.
