This hotel is in a lovely old house near to the central square in Ambato. Like most old Spanish colonial hotels it can suffer from noise as the rooms overlook a central courtyard, in this case it houses the restaurant. As it happens we didn't have a noise problem the night we stayed. The staff were very friendly and helpful,...

I have gone to eat at Roka Plaza three times, all three times have been a great experience in terms of food, service and ambiance. I have tried different appetizers and main courses and all of them were delicious so you could literally try what you want of the menu. There are different international dishes and they have good sushi....

Looks beautiful. Was excited to stay here. In fact am here right now. But no one told me it was impossible to sleep here. They play loud music downstairs in the dining area ( it's an open courtyard setting) til midnight. Impossible to sleep before 1 :00 am. So if you are looking to pay a hotel to stay awake...

The best steak I've had in a restaurant. Gorgeous colonial architecture and great service. The steak Roka is a sight to behold. I recommend for those on a modest and higher budget for a treat. I'm coming back.

This is a comfortable small hotel near the central plaza of Ambato. It was recommended by a colleague who had visited Ambato several times, and I understand why! The hotel is surprisingly pretty and quite reasonably priced. The only down side was that noise traveled pretty well through the building, so light sleepers might need to take this into account.

The hotel is conveniently located to the cathedral & other attractions in the center of town. The hotel is in an extensively, remodeled old building & is very nice inside. Its excellent restaurant is in the covered, central patio. Our room was nicely furnished but many of the decorations were very fragile. Each had a price tag because everything was...

Centrally located this former prestigious classic home only has seven unique rooms surrounding a restaurant courtyard. Interesting architecture with stone walls, high ceilings, and exquisite decorations adorn this facility. Staff are friendly, courteous, and provide excellent service. Restaurant fare includes a continental breakfast daily, and a solid menu featuring flaming steak, ravioli, and pork chops which were solidly prepared and...

This courtyard building dating to the 18th century has been renovated into a charming boutique hotel. The dining room serves excellent food and the breakfast provided with the room is very good. All dishes presented with elegant finishing touches Ask for a room on the second floor which will be more spacious and quieter than the first floor rooms next...

Very well appointed hotel. Central location, comfortable beds and pillows, great shower. Read reviews of exceptional breakfast but found it to be the same as any other with scramble eggs, coffee and bread.

The building survived an earthquake which is a extra curiosity. But apart from that we ate a delicious champignon ceviche , which was also curious and very good. The pork beef followed by a fruit assortment crowned a very pleasant meal. Correct service for what I suppose is a classic in the region.

“I got a room upstairs (I guess #3) because the hotel was fully booked. The television was embedded in the side wall and you can hardly watch TV from bed. However it has a larger bathroom than those rooms that I could see downstairs.”
