We have really mixed feelings about this place. The owner was welcoming and charming. The setting and views are amazing. The pool area is a huge bonus. Initially we were disappointed that our room (15) was on the ground floor and didn’t get the panoramic view. However we discovered some of the rooms upstairs were troubled by the kitchen noise...

We stayed here as part of a wedding group, for four nights. Stunning vistas of grapes and olive groves, two gorgeous infinity pools, lovely air conditioned rooms and 115 acres of beautiful grounds. The food is five star at a three star price: neighbors from the Tuscan community dine at the little restaurant here. The homemade buckwheat spaghetti with truffle,...

My wife and I spent an extraordinary couple of days at La Palagina over Memorial Day weekend (Ok, they don't celebrate Memorial Day in Italy!). The Villa is in the most wonderful part of Italy’s Chianti region. The weather complemented the outstanding facilities. The views from the terraces were like living in the clouds. The fare in the dining facilities...

My wife and I have stayed at Palagina twice in the last three years and enjoyed every minute of it. This is a country hotel with superb service and high quality food. The rooms are simply furnished, but decorated with care and style. The setting is beautiful with views over vineyards and olive groves and the gardens are lush and...

From my spotless and romantic rooms, perfectly maintained grounds, breathless views, unbelievably good food, and exceptionally friendly staff my stay at the Villa la Palagina was truly heaven on earth. From start to finish we could not have received a warmer welcome. Kind, courteous, helpful and sincere staff from reception to restaurant to rooms - all under the keen direction of Erich, the hotel manager here. The hotel completely lives up to its photographs and its understated Tuscan elegance is exactly what we hoped for in terms of setting and...

I don't usually write reviews of hotels because I am too busy writing about other matters, however, I was so happy at the Villa that I decided to do so this time. Yes, warm country elegance are the words I'd use to describe Villa La Palagina...the olive trees growing along the long drive, the golden building, the entrance hall carefully furnished...

We stayed here for 1 night during our honeymoon. When we arrived they told us that they had upgraded us to a junior suite (at no extra charge), which of course made us very happy. Until we saw the room! It had double doors that lead straight out to the "courtyard" in front of the fountain whick was beautiful, but...

I hesitate to write this review because I don't want to risk the onslaught of tourism.... but, Villa la Palagina is sublime and apparently immune to the lure of commercial tourism. The experience is genuine, that is, as though you were a permanent resident of Figline. The director, Eric, is warm, funny, and completely committed to offering the best possible...
