My husband and I have stayed at the King's Head previously. This time we had a couple of issues which were immediately rectified and we can only say how quickly all the admin staff were to sort these things out. Special mention must go to Jess, the duty manageress, who went out of her way to make sure everything was right for us following my accident. The kindness shown was amazing. Well done. The room was spacious with plenty of drinks and tea/coffee. Owing to the current covid situation the disabled car parking facilities have been taken over by tables/marquees which is understandable. However, we are hoping that when the situation improves that disabled parking facilities will be restored inside the hotel perimeter.

Visited this morning for coffee . Strange system whereby the waitress brings mugs which then have to be taken inside and filled from a machine by the customer . The toilets are upstairs . The banister was very sticky , and had clearly not been cleaned for a very long time . I see this has been mentioned before . If this is what the public areas are like , I fear to imagine how dirty the kitchen must be . I would not return .

we stay three nights in the kings head the good side was the accomodation was very good nice size room cleaned every day plenty of hot water and a really good shower the bad side was down in the bar area organised chaos i would call it,they rely to much on these phone apps to order from the tables if like us you dont use apps you can sit for ages until someone catches your eye,the breakfast menu features a lot of muffin dishes but the first two days we were there they had no muffins.if you wanted a steak they had no onion rings or tomatoes also no bananas for the porridge and staff chatting among themselves instead of doing their job properly ,needs a good sort out.

The actual food, ie sausages, bacon, etc was really good quality meat, but the service was terrible, friendly enough but not very helpfull. I could see, what I believed to be my breakfast sitting there, waiting the the waitress to delivery it to my table, by time it was brought to my table it was almost cold. There was only me and one other person in there, so they wasn’t busy.

Overall great hotel, fab room spacious enough for the two of us. Lovely welcoming staff and good food and drink. 4 stars awarded due to the bed being hard and the pillows uncomfortable, but otherwise all good
