I've had the opportunity to travel to many places around the world and staying in diverse hotels, but Hotel Casa Terra is like no other, is just like staying in someone's house you know for years. We couldn’t be any happier with the experience we had. The staff were excellent and super friendly. The hotel is in a great location, minutes away to the Plaza Mayor. Next time I come to Villa de Leyva, this is the only place I am going to stay. Thank you Ximena, Alvaro and the entire staff for making our stay unforgettable.

Having worked in luxury hospitality for the past 20 years, and with a passion for travel, I understand exceptional service and that is exactly what we got at Hotel Casa Terra. This may actually be one of the best small luxury hotels we have ever experienced, the service was beyond expectation and the attention to detail is exquisite at every stage of the customer journey. The pre arrival enquiries ensures a very smooth arrival and a very warm welcome awaits from the owners who will take you to your suite. The amenities are extensive and the team seems to anticipate your every need. Sustainability and luxury go hand in hand and the thoughtful pillow menu and turndown service are a rare treat! The housekeeper goes out of her way to ensure that home away from home welcome without being intrusive. Breakfast is included and the choices are impressive. Your own table is laid on your private terrace with a different theme of crockery each day adding to the experience. Before even ordering you are served a delightful surprise of fresh fruits displayed beautifully with flowers from the garden. An instant smile to start your day! Many of the breakfast choices are very authentic to the region and cooked with the owners unique recipes - for sure this was my best meal of the day. (Lunch and dinner not offered at the hotel as you are spoilt for choice in the town although you can make use of the terrace during the day). We arranged some external activities which the owners ensure become experiences, partnering with only the best local talent we enjoyed some wonderful tours which were evidently of better quality and authenticity than the typical tourist would find. This was a very special stay and an absolute gem of a hotel. A great discovery and somewhere we will visit again. Good value for money is an understatement, best hotel experience in the whole of Colombia!

We stayed 2 nights at Casa Terra and it was excellent. The room was suberb and the service was great (friendly and efficient staff). The breakfast was OK. The location is perfect - only 5 minutes walk from the main plaza. Overall a very nice stay.

This place was an absolute dream! The house was straight out of a movie. Everything was so close by and Ximena and the staff were so helpful in Villa de Leyva. She set us up with a fantastic tour guide, amazing restaurant recommendations and even a horseback riding tour! It was one of my favourite trips to date. We can't wait to be back!

This was one of the best hotel experiences that we have ever had (and I'm not usually given to superlatives). From the very beginning of our contact and booking, and throughout our stay, Ximena was always available and offering tons of tips (in excellent English). She even contacted some sources to give us local tips for our NEXT destination (Barichara)! It is quite obvious that she derives great pleasure from helping people, and it was certainly great to be on the receiving end. She also recommended a local guide for a day of birding, and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. All of the staff are super friendly and wanting to help you with anything and everything. The breakfast on the terrace each morning was excellent (and is included in your room price). The room was cleaned or freshened twice a day. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. They also have free onsite, secure parking. You truly want for nothing here. I am SO glad we visited Villa de Leyva and stayed with Ximena at her gorgeous place!
