Booked through tour company after my research. Had no issues. Room clean and very spacious. Very good hot water in shower. Room 2 above reception. 6 blocks to square. We did not use spa. Breakfast very well served and nice inside or outside. Staff seemed supportive.
If you want to stay in this hotel for business, do not do it. The billing is not clear enough. They sell you with a price and in the bill there is another price and items. BREAKFAST is not included in the tariff, it is sold separately under the slogan (Breakfast included). The worst customer service experience, very rude and they do not have the will to help you.
While the decor is relatively simple, it is very charming with lots of flowers in the courtyard, large verandahs. While the rooms are not huge, mine was more than adequate. Staff were friendly and breakfast selection was good. It was easy to walk to the town square and restaurants.
We stayed with two families for one night in 4 rooms. All rooms were what you expect in Villa de Leyva, colonial style. The rooms are clean but in some aspects a bit worn out. What struck us as unacceptable was the staff at the check in desk, absolutely not customer friendly and unhelpful. We have travelled a lot in Colombia and have never been asked for ID of our children, the lady would not let us check in because we had no ID for the children with us. The hotel did not point this out that this is crucial for checking in. They were able to contact me to switch from a booking through a website to a direct booking! But not to advice us that they cannot check in without ID of the children. The only person who was friendly and helpful was the lady at the breakfast buffet. All in all the place is fine, but there are a lots of places in Villa de Leyva where staff cares about the guests. We will not go back to this place.…
We spent 3 night here and had a pleasant stay. Rooms were nice and bathrooms good with nice showers. The breakfast was excellent and the service by our waitress very attentive (appeared to be one of few members of staff who smiled). The main issue was a lack of information on Spa opening times and cost of treatments. They need to have these clearly visible in reception or in rooms. We had to ask on saturday and we were told 9pm closing - so we went Sunday after 6pm only to find it closed. Asking reception why they said it was only Saturday until 9pm - so it was a bit like asking 20 questions (common in Colombia). In fact Friday has different closing time too.Overall though a decent place to stay if a bit pricey.
We stayed a couple nights here, having arranged the room on the spot after driving from Bogotá. The price was reasonable for the modest-sized room, which was clean and mostly comfortable enough. The staff members (reception desk, bell hop, breakfast room worker) were quite friendly and helpful, although I should note that we did not encounter anyone who apparently spoke English; probably too shy, so my mediocre Spanish worked fine. There is secured parking gratis, which we appreciated. My only quibble was that the bed is too short for me – and I’m not especially tall at 6’1”. The bed was at least as wide as a queen-sized bed though. The hotel is in a convenient location in that it is on the edge of the older (interesting) part of town, so it is easy to drive in and out of town and also walk to Plaza Mayor and pretty much any restaurant in 10-15 minutes maximum – although there are a couple decent restaurants within 5 minutes.…
Well located within easy walking distance of the main square and also has a secure car park. Our bedroom was a good size and had a huge walk in shower. Everything was very clean and the WiFi was good. On the first night we left our window open which was a bad idea as we were close to the road and the traffic woke me up. The following night we kept it closed and didn’t hear anything! Breakfast was by table service on our first morning and then on the second it was a buffet, due to numbers I assume. Reasonable choice and quality with eggs made to order. The staff were all courteous but seem a bit sad. No spontaneous Buenos Dias here, except for the young lady at breakfast! The place could also do with a bit more signage or info in your room. It wasn’t obvious to us where the spa area was, parking or if you could get massages but overall a good choice of place to stay for the weekend.…
We have a great travel in family, because the hotel are excelent: location, price, service, installations, poll, spa, foot, parking, etc. I recommend the hotel for couples and family's and the relation between price and quality is perfect.
Well located 5 minutes from both the bus station and the main square. My room was large with a terrace overlooking the street. Windows are double-glazed and blocked out most of the street noise. Good bathroom and shower. Although I did not use the indoor pool, it looked welcoming. I would stay there again.
After a last minute decision on our Colombia trek, we decided to visit Villa de Leyva and found this little jem. Not only was the price right, but the room, food, and property amenities wonderful. One couple had a room with a couch and a tub/shower, we had a smaller room with shower. Both absolutely quaint. Both included coffee and free breakfast (which was filling and tasty). We made use of the spa: using the warm pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room, and massage. Then, off to explore the city during the day and the night. A day trip was made to visit both Sutamarchán & Ráquira by a local driver to add variety to our three days here. Overall, absolutely worth the value for the ambiance, food, amenities, and wonderful (and attentive) staff.
