Couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to stay in while visiting Villa de Leyva. Away from the crowds and the noise, but still close enough to enjoy all the activities in town. Spectacular views of the mountains and full enjoyment of nature. Our new year’s eve was amazing, good food, drinks, music and service... a home away from home, we felt truly welcome. Thank you Elkin, Don Alirio and family!!!
Was nice to find a place like this in one of the most romantic towns in Colombia. The house is fully colombian decorated, the room was very clean, the breakfast was good and the owners are really kind people. I totally recommend it :)
The owners of this place Cristina and Alirio are super helpful and kind. They gave us a lot of valuable information. The food was nice and the house is very cozy. The also offered us to be with them in Barichara and this place is lovely. They have accomodation in Barichara in the country side, is like a farm. Please ask them for it. Villa de Leyva and Barichara are absolutely divine places to visit in Boyaca and Santander.
Slightly far from centre of town - but the town is small, this just means a 10 min walk vs. a 5 min walk. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Great showers as well. Lots of nicely kept common space. Breakfast was great - eggs, bread item, fruit, and coffee or hot chocolate, and hours were quite flexible. Property is very secure. Staff are friendly but don't speak English. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful building, rooms with a lot of character, and a nice, quiet location a little removed from the crowds. The service was perfect, given with true care for the hotel guests and without any stifling formality. Highly recommended, we will be back!
Mauricio was Great!! Took care of every detail. Good breakfast with fresh fruit. Gave us directions of where to go. Attentive and courteous.Always willing to help. The street in front, muddy and difficult to walk on. A little too far from the main square.
Stayed here for one night, and was really nice. The staff are really helpful and serviceminded. Rooms are clean, shower is good and warm. There's a tv in the room with some english channels. The breakfast is good. You get coffee, fresh juice, bread and eggs. If I get back, I will stay here;-)
Hôtel villa Cristina, villa leyva Difficult to book on-line, by email or tel, if you do not speak Spanish. No effort is done for tourists in other language. However very polite and friendly check in. This villa is an old-style family house, aka pension stay, decorated like your grandpas would do. It is located not in the center. You have to walk to get there, but it is also an opportunity to visit quieter districts (by the way, the best French bakery patisserie is just nearby). And you will have no city noises and you will get a good sleep. As for the room: we had a so-called suite, which is a normal room with a bathtub having jacuzzis jet functions. The bathroom was large and clean, but too dark with only one bulb. The room had even a so-called chimney, a fake electrical fireplace, but it was not functioning. As the TV, as usual in all Colombia, exclusively Spanish-speaking channels, not a single international channel of any other country. We had a lunch (basic, and expensive for what you get. We will not advise to eat there as the offer is pretty good downtown. We even had to pay for extras we did not wanted nor ordered). The breakfast is basic (industrial jam and soft industrial bread, eggs) All staff are very friendly, very polite and smiley.…
It's a hotel really near to the town center, the service provided from the staff is so charming and helpful. The room are quite small even though it has everything you need to have a nice vacations. The food is really good. The hotel's inside is beautiful with a sensation like a countryside home.
Considering the low price of a room in this hotel, this lived up to our expectations and a lot more. The rooms were small, but definitely adequate, the food was absolutely in agreement with my westernised palate, and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There were a few minor things that I did not like, such a the lack of hot water from one of the taps but, to be honest, at £44 per night for a room in this beautifully decorated colonial cottage, I find it very hard to fault. My 5 star rating is based on value for money.
